[00:00:30] Speaker A: Hi, I'm Aubrey, and I play Isabelle, the entrepreneurial. [00:00:35] Speaker B: Hi, I'm legacy, and I play Rosanna, the faithful. [00:00:39] Speaker C: Hi, I'm Scott, and I play Arthur, the faithful. [00:00:43] Speaker D: Hi, I'm termite, and I play piper, the underground. [00:00:47] Speaker E: And I'm bloodied porcelain. I'll be your storyteller for the evening. Hunting makes a person's world very small. Whether predator or prey. The world constantly shrinks as one closes in on the other. The hunted might dodge or duck or distract in an effort to enlarge their world. To make it so big that they can hide in it once more. Until the hunter gives up and moves on. Sometimes that even works. Most times it does not. And the world gets smaller and smaller and smaller. The peril for the hunter then, is when the hunted stops running away and starts running toward. Suddenly the world is shrinking twice as fast. And it is the predator as much as the prey. Who finds themselves running out of room to maneuver. Collision becomes inevitable. Because there's just nowhere else to go. [00:01:42] Speaker C: Nowhere left to run, nowhere left to hide. [00:01:47] Speaker A: Nothing left to say. [00:01:49] Speaker B: Nothing left to decide. [00:01:52] Speaker E: Tonight, our hunters find their world getting very small indeed. So small that who is predator and who is prey is no longer clear. Only that we are dangerously close. Don't bother checking your watch. It's dying time. Good evening, players. Hello. [00:02:15] Speaker A: Hello. [00:02:15] Speaker E: Hello. Last week was a lot, huh? [00:02:21] Speaker A: That's the word for it, yeah. [00:02:22] Speaker E: Last week there were big emotions, big revelations, heartfelt discussions. And considerations being made about people's futures. Where all of this is going. Where some might draw the line and what they're willing to do for their friends. And what others might expect from those they hunt. With. That said, by the end of it, you all had a pretty hefty chunk of downtime. Believe we talked about you taking about a month to rest up. Give Rosanna's hand time to heal and for her to learn how to. How to maneuver with one digit missing. Give Arthur time to get back to full strength. And Piper time to kind of recoup some of her mental fortitude. In that time, Tov has been mostly back in California. But does eventually fly out to join you all in Louisiana when he finds out that there is something big and dangerous going on. With quiet missing. You all are going to need a couple of support, people, in case someone tries to show up to be the cavalry for your quarry or something like that. The plans, as they have been stated, is that the boys will not really be a part of the combat with the vampire itself. Their job is going to be to keep any would be security guards or passersby out of harm's way, and to cut off any potential additional reinforcements your quarry might call it. My understanding is that all of you have various things that you intend to do to prepare for your trip to Houston. To intercept Mister Barrow, for those who are not a part of the game, and thus did not see the notes that the players were given between sessions. When we ran out of time last week about exactly what they learned in delving into his history, they had some mixed results. They learned enough to figure out where he was going to be and to have some idea of what his clan might be. Um, but not a ton beyond that. Um, they know that he has a small entourage. He usually. He usually travels with. Um, so we are going to have. I'd like to have. Because this is Piper's deal. Because this is. This is a hunt that is happening. In order to help Piper reckon with her past, I would like to have Piper go over what the players learned exactly. And as you guys start to formulate your plan, and then we'll talk about what everybody is doing to prepare in the days leading up to you leaving. [00:06:02] Speaker D: All right, so it looks like this guy is been around at least a century and a half. Means we're probably dealing with somebody at least relatively powerful. Probably well above our pay grade, which I guess is anything because we don't get paid. [00:06:23] Speaker A: But hey. [00:06:28] Speaker D: In terms of what he does for a living, I guess apparently involved in aerospace engineering, which is. I guess it's a job, but not the kind of thing I would have expected him to do. [00:06:44] Speaker A: Though. [00:06:45] Speaker D: Working with the Department of defense makes more sense. Seems to be working on a merger with another company. Realistically, it's more of a. More of a takeover. He's shown up. He just wants to have more things under his control. And because of that, or at least we assume he's on his way to Houston, Texas. And that's where we're planning on grabbing him. Hopefully, when his plane touches down. [00:07:23] Speaker E: He. [00:07:23] Speaker D: Is going to be traveling with, or at least he usually travels with at least three other people, one of which we know is, uh, a human, or at least human adjacent. But we can't really confirm anything about the other two. But either way, there is a non zero chance that they're more or less innocent. So we need to be careful about them when we deal with this. I don't think there's anything else, which. Nothing important. [00:08:16] Speaker E: You're all there. You can respond. [00:08:20] Speaker C: So we're. Are we planning on hitting him on the tarmac. We're waiting for him to leave the airport. What's the plan? [00:08:34] Speaker D: Honestly, it might almost be easier if. [00:08:36] Speaker E: We. [00:08:39] Speaker D: Come in as he's in the airport. It's a private airport, so it should be less populated, to say the least. [00:08:50] Speaker B: Less populated doesn't necessarily mean less guarded. [00:08:56] Speaker C: Yeah, it kind of depends on what kind of security this private airport has. But I also agree that if we let him get outside, he'll probably just go into a limo or rented car or something. [00:09:05] Speaker D: Yeah, I think letting him make it out of the airport leave too many things up in the air. [00:09:13] Speaker B: Okay. I mean, just remember that all airports are federally protected. If they see us attacking some guy who's got money, they're gonna come after us first. [00:09:24] Speaker D: Well, ideally, they won't see us do anything. [00:09:29] Speaker B: Yeah, ideally, sure. But, you know, at this point, I just gotta remind everybody, we gotta prepare for the worst and hope for the best. So let's assume that there are security who don't know what's going on, who are watching the airport. They see us attacking a guy who's coming off of a plane. They come, they attack us. What do we do? [00:10:03] Speaker D: I would say we tried to take them down without killing them. I can at least attempt non lethally. [00:10:10] Speaker A: Yeah, I can make some tear gas and various things like that that'll helpfully help disable them. [00:10:23] Speaker B: And I don't. I don't want to sound pessimistic, but, you know, old guy probably got a lot of resources. Probably got a lot of people who he either mind controlled or ghouled out to protect him. We've got to be prepared for a number of things to happen, because we don't know who he has mind controlled and who he has. It's one thing to be ready to take him down, but he's just one part of the possibility of multitude of equations, especially if he's got people that we know that he's already traveling with, and we don't know what they've got. [00:11:14] Speaker D: Packing. [00:11:15] Speaker E: And I have. Everybody. Roll me. Let's go with resolve an intelligence. [00:11:30] Speaker D: Interesting. [00:11:35] Speaker E: There isn't an easy go to for a memory check. So true. [00:11:40] Speaker D: That is not the right. Not. Not the right bot. [00:11:51] Speaker E: Do not waste willpower on these. Just. Arthur remembers nothing. I saw Arthur got zero successes. I was like, don't waste your willpower. It's not worth it. Okay, okay. Funny enough, I think the one person who is the least likely to want to take this route is the person who had the best memory for it. Um, but Piper is very close by. Piper and Rosanna, you guys have already agreed to work with the SI, who have their hooks in the federal government. Half of the SI's operations in the US is like NSA and Homeland Security. If anybody can help you deal with potential issues at an airport, it would be them. It is up to you if you want to make the call. But I just wanted to remind you as the storyteller that you've already agreed to work with them. Their resources are at your disposal. [00:12:59] Speaker C: Yeah, I thought of that. [00:13:01] Speaker E: But speaking of, during the month of downtime, you guys all received private contractor like paperwork. Should I assume that everybody filled theirs out? [00:13:13] Speaker C: Yes. [00:13:14] Speaker A: Yeah. Yeah. [00:13:19] Speaker E: Rosanna did not. [00:13:20] Speaker B: I said yeah. [00:13:22] Speaker E: Oh, okay. I thought you said no. It sounded like you said no. [00:13:24] Speaker C: She just threw it reluctantly and at the last like minute, like 1159 on. [00:13:29] Speaker B: The day before it was due. Like it was some sort of college exam. [00:13:34] Speaker E: Okay, you guys have all basically been brought on as private contractors for now. But it has been made clear that if at any point anyone wants to become like a proper full time employee, the offer is on the table. So, just as a general reminder to Rosanna and Piper, you guys have access to federal resources and to agencies who can help you. You have to accept that there's probably going to be some rules and constraints that they put in place. But the offer is there. And you were entitled to those things, as promised by Bishop Thomas. [00:14:22] Speaker D: Yeah, it'd probably be helpful. But it's not something Piper would opt for in this situation. Unless somebody else brings it up. [00:14:32] Speaker A: And, you know, do you not even get a bitch to do it aloud? [00:14:39] Speaker B: Well, let's remember what we have on the table just in case we need it. Technically, we are working for the second inquisition. [00:14:53] Speaker C: Oh. [00:14:54] Speaker D: Because I'd rather them not get involved in this. Not, I'd rather them not be more involved in this than they already are. Rather. [00:15:02] Speaker C: Well, yeah, but I'm realizing that if we, I mean, I can understand Rosanna's point that if we attack someone in an airport, it may just look like we're domestic terrorists, which I don't think anyone, I also think that it is better than letting him get in his car, because then we don't know where he's going and what it'll look like there. So I understand the airport is the best place, but maybe not just tear gassing an entire airport. [00:15:33] Speaker B: Yeah, because that's how we end up on the news. [00:15:37] Speaker E: But if you ask the two of you, at least no three of you have, at one point or another, been involved in another explosion. Rosanna and Arthur were both part of blowing up a. A block of apartments, and he's. Piper's dorm room exploded, and he's already. [00:16:01] Speaker C: He's already under investigation for tax evasion. He's a cult leader. Yeah, this doesn't look good if domestic terrorism just gets thrown on there as well. [00:16:09] Speaker B: We don't have to use them. And trust me. [00:16:13] Speaker C: But if there is. If there is some way that they can help us isolate him eventually, before he. He's fully out of the airport or get through something so that we can be maybe on the tarmac when he. [00:16:28] Speaker B: Lands, or they might be able to find a way to negate and do some damage control for us. So our names and faces mysteriously disappear from footage. [00:16:43] Speaker A: Yeah. And so that, you know, the airport doesn't send back up, you know? [00:16:48] Speaker E: Yeah. [00:16:51] Speaker B: You know, I know that you don't want to get the second inquisition involved, and I know that you're really good at the technology thing, but we aren't going to have the time for you to hack into federal buildings to delete evidence because we're going to be a little bit busy. At least with the second inquisition. They can help us. [00:17:12] Speaker C: Isn't this a private airport? [00:17:17] Speaker B: Is it like a private. [00:17:21] Speaker E: Like a. Like a. [00:17:22] Speaker B: What are they called? Private jet agency? Or is it like a small city airport? Cause there's a difference. [00:17:33] Speaker E: The airport is one of those small ones that is owned by the city, but is primarily used by people who own their own planes. It's pretty high end, pretty exclusive. There isn't a ton of security, per se, but it is. But it's more like. Because not a lot of people go through here, they don't have to put a metric fuck ton of security in place. But there is security. [00:18:04] Speaker A: Right? [00:18:05] Speaker E: Right. [00:18:05] Speaker C: For sure. [00:18:06] Speaker E: And because it is an airport where people make domestic flights in and out, it does fall under federal jurisdiction. Yeah. [00:18:17] Speaker A: So I know you're into. You don't like the idea, but honestly, it is our best bet to get them to at least keep things off our back while we're working. [00:18:31] Speaker D: All right. [00:18:36] Speaker E: Okay. So who's gonna make that phone call? Somebody's gotta make the phone call, guys. [00:18:50] Speaker B: I guess I will. [00:18:51] Speaker E: Yeah. [00:18:52] Speaker A: I don't know. [00:18:53] Speaker D: Has the best reputation with them. Should make the phone call. [00:18:57] Speaker E: Yeah. [00:18:57] Speaker C: And, you know, I'm over here. I'm just a hammer, you know, ready for some nails. Probably not the best person to try to negotiate something. [00:19:06] Speaker B: Well, if we're sending the person best reputation, wouldn't that be Isabelle, who already kind of works? [00:19:13] Speaker E: Yeah. Yep. [00:19:17] Speaker A: Yeah. Yeah. Yes. [00:19:19] Speaker E: All right, Isabelle, I will tell you. I will tell you up front that calling your normal office is not going to get you anywhere. You're going to want to call the bishop's office. [00:19:28] Speaker A: Yeah, that's the one. I was like, yeah, we're probably gonna have to call the bishop's office for this one. [00:19:32] Speaker E: Okay. Before we get started, are you gonna do this on speakerphone with everybody around you? You gotta step out of the room. What's the plan? [00:19:44] Speaker A: I'll do it on speakerphone with everyone around me. There's nothing that I want to hold back from this, so. [00:19:51] Speaker E: All right. You pick up the phone, dial the number. It rings a few times before a voice picks up. Bishop Shaw's office. This is Sister Mary Christopher. How may I assist you? [00:20:11] Speaker A: Hi, this is Doctor Isabel Moran. [00:20:15] Speaker E: Hi, Doctor Moran. We were wondering when we would hear from you. I got your paperwork a few days ago. [00:20:21] Speaker A: Lovely. Yeah, we were wondering. We have an operation to do in the next few days, and we wanted to make sure it wasn't going to ruffle too many feathers. [00:20:34] Speaker E: I see. Could you provide me with details? The bishop's not in his office at the moment, but I have been authorized to help you along with anything you might need. [00:20:47] Speaker A: Okay. We've identified a blank body coming into the Houston airport, correct? [00:20:58] Speaker D: Yeah. Airport in Houston. [00:21:00] Speaker A: Airport in Houston. This specific airport in Houston. Which I will say. Okay. Yep. And we just wanted to make sure that we weren't going to cause too much of a ruckus as we deal with them. [00:21:16] Speaker E: I see. All right. It will take me some time to make the appropriate calls and get the approvals to make sure that this is all on the up and up, but I can certainly give you a call back. [00:21:31] Speaker A: Sounds wonderful. [00:21:32] Speaker E: Is there anything specific that you're looking for? Or is this mostly just to make sure that you don't end up on the nightly news or with a rap sheet any bigger than some of your companions already have? [00:21:46] Speaker A: It is mostly that one. [00:21:49] Speaker E: Okay, well, then I will. I will make some calls and see what. I see what I can put together for you. [00:21:56] Speaker A: Thank you. [00:21:57] Speaker E: If you and your friends could send a. A dossier in an operations plan to this email, and she will provide you with an email just so that I can present it to the people who need to sign off on the support. I can send you a format, if that would help you put it together. [00:22:20] Speaker A: Probably, yes. [00:22:21] Speaker E: Okay. Should I have it sent to Miss Ash? [00:22:29] Speaker A: Yes. [00:22:30] Speaker E: Okay. Well, it was lovely talking to you, and I'm sure I will hear from you soon. I'm sure you will, and she will say goodbye and hang up. [00:22:47] Speaker A: You're gonna have to fill up the Pippi work. Piper. I'm not doing that. [00:22:50] Speaker E: Piper. About ten minutes later, you do get an email. It's basically like a. An example. Like somebody did, like a mock up of an operations plan and then, like, requisitions, forms. Basically, this is what we're doing, and this is the support that we need. It's. With your intelligence, it's pretty easy to figure it out. It's going to be time consuming, but you can do it. [00:23:19] Speaker A: All right? [00:23:23] Speaker E: And honestly, Isabelle's history of working with the government, she can also help a good bit between the two of you. It'll be fine. Isabel has said that she won't write it for you, but I'm sure she can give you guidance on what language to use. [00:23:40] Speaker D: Listen, as long as it prevents me from being accused of domestic terrorism again. [00:23:47] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:23:49] Speaker C: I mean, yeah, definitely don't need that hanging over me. [00:23:58] Speaker A: But also, is there anything beyond them just keeping, you know, everything from getting out and making sure nobody's gonna poke in our business that we need from them? [00:24:14] Speaker C: I mean, I don't. I don't know. We're gonna need to fight. Yeah. [00:24:17] Speaker D: I think we can put together on our own first. [00:24:25] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:24:29] Speaker D: Yeah, I know. When we dealt with the werewolves last year, you were able to at least make something, right, Isabelle? [00:24:43] Speaker A: Yeah, you know, I can make some. Some things. I gotten a little bit better with improvised gear, and that's a lot of improvised stuff. So. [00:24:59] Speaker D: If it works, it works, right? [00:25:02] Speaker C: Doesn't matter if it's a dry ice bomb that kills a vampire or it's a c four that kills a vampire. Either way, successfully kills a vampire. [00:25:13] Speaker E: Patty, who is nearby, sort of looks at Arthur like, do you really think that that doesn't make a difference? Because it makes a difference. The look on his face is there is a significant difference between those two types of explosives. [00:25:25] Speaker D: Plastic explosives. [00:25:26] Speaker C: I know. [00:25:27] Speaker D: Improvised explosives. [00:25:29] Speaker C: I understand that, but I'm just. I'm just. Isabelle, don't feel self conscious about whatever it is you come up with. [00:25:40] Speaker A: Okay? Yeah, I mostly gonna focus on making things that we can use to disable the humans. [00:25:51] Speaker E: Yeah. [00:25:51] Speaker B: Don't be shy about your c four dry ass bomb. [00:25:56] Speaker D: I don't think. I don't think combining those two is a good idea. [00:26:00] Speaker A: No, it's not. Theoretically, if we're talking science, I don't know if you. If c four and dry ice would actually ever set off because of the way c four works. And Isabelle just kind of does a little bit of science ramble for a. [00:26:16] Speaker D: Second, I don't think hypersonically, like. No, I don't think it would set it up. It might, if anything, might make the c four less effective. [00:26:25] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:26:29] Speaker E: Okay. [00:26:30] Speaker A: But. [00:26:34] Speaker E: Isabelle knows not to base the. Not to base her ego on what type of explosives she makes, I guess. [00:26:42] Speaker A: Yeah, I guess so. [00:26:43] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:26:44] Speaker E: I'm glad we got this talk. Very important. [00:26:50] Speaker D: I imagine this talk is happening as Piper is, like, working on an outline for this. [00:26:56] Speaker E: Oh, dear. [00:26:57] Speaker D: We fought or died. [00:27:00] Speaker E: Arthur's ego was directly tied to how people reacted to that. You know what? I'm out. [00:27:09] Speaker D: Oh, yeah. Working on an outline for this operations sheet, which she is entirely opposed to. Fundamentally opposed to. [00:27:25] Speaker E: Okay, while Piper is working on that, Rosanna, do you have anything specific that you need to do to prepare for what's coming? [00:27:39] Speaker B: Yes. [00:27:41] Speaker E: Okay. [00:27:42] Speaker B: I am going to do a ritual. [00:27:47] Speaker E: Okay. [00:27:51] Speaker B: I'm gonna do that new ritual that you gave me. A couple. [00:27:55] Speaker E: Yes, ma'am. Good. I've been waiting. I've been hoping, waiting and hoping and praying and wishing, hoping and hoping and hoping and hoping. [00:28:06] Speaker B: And she is going to drag the one who seems to have the hardest time. I'm sorry, the. The one who has the second hardest time, keeping their desperation in check. So she's gonna set the ritual up for. For Arthur this time I would have with Piper, because she seems to have the hardest time out of all of us. But Piper's a black hole. [00:28:44] Speaker E: In more ways than one. [00:28:48] Speaker B: What's that? And Piper's already gotten her dose of Rosanna helping her for the rest of her life. So. Vis a vis finger. [00:29:04] Speaker E: So wait, hang on. Piper. How do you get out of. How do you get out of desperation? [00:29:11] Speaker D: I have to hurt a thing? [00:29:13] Speaker B: Yeah, you're fine. [00:29:14] Speaker E: Okay, hold on. How does Isabel get out of desperation? [00:29:19] Speaker A: I have to get into the quarries. Good graces. [00:29:23] Speaker E: Okay. I'm looking at everybody's redemption. I actually think Isabelle has the hardest one to get out of because Arthur says that he has to protect somebody. Piper has to hurt something. I don't entirely remember what yours is. [00:29:42] Speaker B: Mine is. I have to learn something new about the quarry. [00:29:46] Speaker E: Right. Isabella, on the other hand, literally can't get out of desperation in the situation you're about to go into. [00:29:51] Speaker A: Yeah, well, no, I can procure a source of their power if I get vampire parts. [00:29:57] Speaker E: So you have to be in their good graces. You're literally going to try and murder somebody. [00:30:02] Speaker A: Good graces or procure samples of the source of their power. I had to scroll over. [00:30:09] Speaker E: Okay, sorry. I'm just going to throw it out there because we're talking about this a little bit. From a mechanics perspective, Arthur and Piper are the easiest ones to get out of desperation. Fair. [00:30:20] Speaker B: Fair. If yours is collect kindred body parts. [00:30:28] Speaker D: That thing that we just spent episodes trying to stop Piper from doing. [00:30:33] Speaker B: Yeah, I think. I think you might be all set, too. So I think I might do it on me, then. [00:30:38] Speaker E: Okay. I think that makes perfect sense. Yeah, that's very fair. I'm sorry. I'm not trying to interfere with roleplay decisions. I just. That's a mechanic that doesn't get played with super, super often, so I just wanted to point it out. [00:30:50] Speaker B: I more so meant who falls into desperation more. [00:30:54] Speaker D: Yeah. Who ends up in despair most often. [00:30:56] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:30:57] Speaker E: Yeah. To be fair, that is Piper. However, Piper is also going into a situation where she can get out of despair faster than anybody else can. [00:31:04] Speaker B: Yeah. So I am going to start setting up the ritual to give myself a little sweet treat. [00:31:18] Speaker E: I would like you to, um. First of all, is anybody gonna go with Rosanna while she does this ritual to watch what happens? [00:31:27] Speaker C: Yes. [00:31:30] Speaker D: I for have paperwork and also. [00:31:33] Speaker A: Does have paperwork, and I'm assisting with paperwork. [00:31:37] Speaker E: Okay. [00:31:38] Speaker C: And Arthur's just standing around. [00:31:40] Speaker E: I'm mostly asking because I'm going to be asking legacy to describe what this looks like and. And how she goes about it. So I wanted to know if anybody else was going to be watching. Are we going out to the little clearing that you've become so fond of? [00:31:55] Speaker B: Yes. [00:31:56] Speaker E: All right. [00:31:58] Speaker C: Slowly building up residual fey magic. [00:32:01] Speaker E: It is, actually. So Rosanna has summoned and talked to Tuafla a few times in the past month. She can't do it anymore because the month is up. She can't sit safely do it without Wren interfering anymore. But for a month, she got unfettered access, and this was always where she did it. So now that a full month of these summonings has passed, this clearing looks almost completely different, and almost isn't really a clearing as much anymore. There is still enough space for her to work, but there are like. It's almost like curtains and veils of vines that hang from the tree branches around here. They all have these gorgeous, brightly colored, almost tropical flowers blooming from them. The whole clearing, no matter what time of day it is or what the weather is like, always smells like the cusp of summer and springtime. It's genuinely beautiful. The moss and the grass is thicker and more lush and a more vibrant dark green. Given that your wife works in the garden, all the time. There's a tiny part of you that is just like, I wonder if all of this non native flora is going to be a problem, right. But it also doesn't seem. It doesn't seem to be spreading too much so far. It seems to be pretty centered in this area where all of the summonings have happened repeatedly. So you're hoping that it's going to be okay and that at some point, you're not going to have to come out here with, like, a flamethrower to burn off the invasive species before they spread too far. But it's genuinely gorgeous, and it's a little bit like stepping into, like, a little its own little world. When you step into this area, every time Rosanna comes here, you can watch the set of her shoulders drop as her whole body relaxes, because she seems like she feels more at peace and at home here than she does anywhere else. [00:34:25] Speaker B: All right, now, this is one I haven't had a chance to really work with yet because I haven't had to use it, but I'm gonna play with a little bit of fate. [00:34:44] Speaker C: Did you just say you're gonna play with fate? [00:34:53] Speaker B: Yes. [00:34:58] Speaker C: All right. [00:35:01] Speaker B: Listen. It actually ties in much more with my religion than it does with my magic. I'm gonna be making. How much do you know about the Celtic? Yeah. [00:35:20] Speaker C: So, not much. [00:35:21] Speaker B: Okay. Do you know about goddess, referred to as the Morgan? [00:35:29] Speaker C: Sure. [00:35:30] Speaker B: Okay, so it's basically, I'm gonna be making an offering to her and some prayer I'm gonna set up basically a little. So she's, as she's kind of, like, going through the motions, she begins to set up, like, a shrine, like a, like a miniature shrine. And there are offerings of different, like, incense and, like, herbs. There is offerings of seeds for corvids to come and eat. And as she's setting up the shrine, she's basically explaining to him the significance of what she is doing setting up for this ritual. She is going to begin to make a couple of circles with salt and sand and a little line that draws up from those circles to touch the base of this, like this mini altar that she has kind of cobbled together. She pricks her finger and drops two little blood dots right in the center of where the two circles and the lines connect. And she gets on one knee and begins to kind of take those. Where she put those two, um, dots of blood and begins to make, um, us, like, another, just, like, perfect circle using the little bit of residue from the, um, uh, from the, from, like the, the collective pile of the salt and sand. And she is. Let me look up the gun. She is going to start inscribing her name using that little bit of that blood mix in with that sand, and with that, she will begin her focus. So the rules of the ritual, just for, just so everybody is aware, our danger rating is gonna go up by one because I'm messing with fate. And as I step finally into that circle to begin that, that kind of like bringing fate down to earth process, I will go ahead and make the is my wits and occults. [00:38:57] Speaker E: Yep. Excellent. That. It works perfect. [00:39:18] Speaker B: And after a moment or two of just silent prayer, she'll begin to touch the ground and just move that sand to wipe away her name and bring the sand just a little bit closer to her, kind of forming like, a path for that magic to flow from the sand, from the salt to her feet. And she's barefoot and a long skirt right now, allowing basically whatever magic this is to fully just get in touch with her. Um, in the, in the. In the way that is, that is most intimate with her, with her magic. [00:40:16] Speaker E: Yeah. [00:40:16] Speaker B: Um, and as that happens, um, it's almost like little tufts of, like, like dark blues and purples kind of settle at her feet. And that is the magic itself beginning to work. And, like, the bindings of fate. And that's how that ritual is. That's how the ritual works. [00:40:56] Speaker E: At least roll me. Resolve and composure, please. [00:41:03] Speaker C: Okay. [00:41:07] Speaker E: This was the other reason why I had to ask who was going. [00:41:14] Speaker C: I could type in the correct coding. [00:41:22] Speaker E: Oh, fantastic. Okay, you don't need to roll. This isn't going to hurt you, but, oh, this is going to be so fucking funny. So you're watching. You're watching as these blues and purples settle at Rosanna's feet and begin to kind of. It almost spreads a little bit like water at her feet until it flows, like, between her toes and around her and then slowly almost seems to be absorbed up into her body. And you can feel like, the air around you gets thicker. It's almost like standing outside in the calm before a really bad thunderstorm. Like, everything just feels tense and heavy. And you're so focused on Rosanna and so convinced that something is about to go terribly wrong because to you, it feels completely unnatural. Yep. That you are not at all prepared for what happens next, which is a burst of crows erupt from the trees around and behind Rosanna and take flight. There's black feathers everywhere. It's almost like being in the movie the birds, for just a moment, just completely startles the fuck out of you. And had you botched that role, you would have pissed yourself. But it mostly just gives you a minor heart attack for a moment, you're like. [00:42:59] Speaker C: Arthur. Goes into defensive stance, you know, gets ready to fight. Feathers everywhere. Problem misses. Mind is thinking of different things. And he doesn't know much, but he knows. Messing with fate, not good. Doesn't end well for the greek heroes. Morrigan, death, war, fertility as well. But, you know, not good. This is not good. All bad. All very bad. [00:43:24] Speaker E: Thoughts were then given your knowledge of the irish pantheon. I mean, crows are a symbol of memorial. And as far as you can tell, your ritual worked. You have the blessing. So that seems like it might have been a sign that you have been blessed. [00:43:46] Speaker B: Thank you. [00:43:49] Speaker C: Thank you. [00:43:52] Speaker B: What are the crows? It means that my prayers were answered. [00:44:00] Speaker C: Yeah. And I hope it works out. [00:44:04] Speaker B: Well, I think it will. I had a connection that is unlike any other. My gods are different than yours. But the fact that her symbols made themselves present, it's gotta be a good thing. [00:44:47] Speaker C: I mean, I guess it's debatable on whether or not having a gun in your corner is a good thing. As we know one used to be my enemy, but. [00:44:57] Speaker E: Yeah. [00:44:58] Speaker B: Well, I mean, Loki also doesn't have. Have the best track record. Something, something, trickster, God, something, something, horse something something. [00:45:09] Speaker C: Yeah, right. That's fair. [00:45:11] Speaker E: Yeah. Rosanna, just. Just so that I have it in my notes, what was your narrow circumstance that you were applying? [00:45:24] Speaker A: Oh, God. [00:45:41] Speaker B: When I get in melee distance with this vampire. [00:45:51] Speaker E: So in battle with the barrow? Yeah. Okay. In. In melee with Andrew Barrow. Okay. That's a very. Okay, cool. All right. [00:46:03] Speaker B: Thank you so much. [00:46:05] Speaker E: I hope you're not planning on being. [00:46:06] Speaker C: In melee, but, yeah, Arthur would definitely get in the way. [00:46:11] Speaker B: Me being a little bit broader and just saying in battle with Andrew, I would take that too. [00:46:18] Speaker E: I would say something like, in battle with. And then whatever tool you're gonna use or whatever distance you're gonna be at, I think is fine. [00:46:27] Speaker B: So then I'll say in battle with my. With my bow and arrow. [00:46:32] Speaker E: Okay, that sounds good. Cool, cool, cool, cool, cool, cool, cool, cool. All right. Sorry, Isabel. Oh, yes. [00:46:43] Speaker B: Sorry. That rule is just a little, like. [00:46:45] Speaker E: It is very big. That's fine. Is there anything else that you wanted to do, Rosanna, or was this it? [00:46:52] Speaker B: No. Well, let's see. Ritual scared the shit out of Arthur. Nope, nothing. [00:46:56] Speaker E: Good. And make a Loki and a horse joke, which we've been missing that this season, so at least we finally snuck one in every goddamn show. I run. It has to come up at least once. I'm pretty sure it's come up in every season of this except the first. [00:47:15] Speaker D: One, because most of the shows you run are at least tangentially related to Loki. [00:47:21] Speaker E: I can't help that all the worlds are connected. Okay, Arthur, was there anything specific that you wish to do other than to get the shit scared out of you by a bunch of birds? [00:47:37] Speaker C: No. The only other thing would just be talking with the boys about their role in operation. Whatever we're calling it, that's it. But it doesn't need to be an on camera thing. [00:47:50] Speaker E: Well, no, I think I feel like it should be. Everybody gets their chance to prepare. You will find Patty and Tov talking quietly. They're in, like, the backyard of the big house. They have taken to hanging out there when they are working with weapons and stuff like that because there's a fence and it offers a little bit more privacy. They're trying to be respectful of all of the people in the compound by not, like, flashing guns constantly. Everybody on the compound is kind of aware that they have them, but it's one of those, like, we don't need to necessarily be, like, field stripping and cleaning big ass guns in front of all of these people, so. Right, but, yeah, no, they're out there at, like, a picnic table that Katie Lynn has set up for them to work at and cleaning a wide assortment of weapons, from guns to knives that you've never seen before. You even see that Tov has a pair of brass knuckles in front of him, alongside the guns in it, other things. [00:49:09] Speaker C: Patty, Tov, how's it going? [00:49:14] Speaker E: Yes. All right. How you doing, boss? You ready? [00:49:19] Speaker C: Yeah, as best as I can be. Kind of leaving the operational analysis up to those who are more keen on that sort of thing. Did get my heart nearly out of my throat. Crows just a little bit ago, but that's a different story. But I want to talk to both of you. I know that since we don't have quiet with us anymore, things are going to change in the way that you two operate. And I feel like you both operate pretty well with each other. There's a little bit of a closeness here. Not really going to get into that too much, but you get what I'm saying. [00:49:56] Speaker E: Both of the boys just sort of, like, arch and eyebrow in that you. [00:50:01] Speaker C: Both seem to work together on everything pretty well. Like, you know each other's movements, you. [00:50:07] Speaker E: Know, bass, you don't have to make it a thing. It's like, we're not ashamed and we're not uncomfortable. You're the only one who's uncomfortable here. [00:50:16] Speaker C: Oh, well, then fine. I just didn't want to make it seem like I was implying anything about the either of you. I just want to talk to you about the plan, what you plan to do and how I can help with that. How we can help each other with that. Because I know in the past I've usually come forward and been like, I'm in charge or whatever, and I didn't want to make it seem like I was interfering with my two experts here. [00:50:43] Speaker E: I mean, we've been given our tasks, which is mostly to keep other people from getting involved, and that's what we intend to do. Um, Isabelle made it sound like we weren't necessarily supposed to get involved in with the little retinue. That's with the guy. [00:51:02] Speaker C: Yeah. Right. [00:51:04] Speaker E: So we'll be making sure that nobody else gets involved if anybody else is there. [00:51:10] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:51:12] Speaker E: Um, it'll be harder without quiet, that's for sure. But, um, I. I think we'll be alright. Not having overwatch isn't necessarily a complete detriment. And pure Carl Piper is usually pretty good at having eyes in places other people struggle to see. So maybe she can help a bit with that. [00:51:33] Speaker C: Yeah, I'll talk to her and make sure that she's keeping that in mind. Cause it's. Our success is going to be up to the team's success, and you keeping other people from joining is highly important for that situation, so. [00:51:52] Speaker E: Well, I think we'll be all right. We'll do our best. At the very least, try to make sure that nobody sneaks up on you and kills you when you're not looking. [00:52:06] Speaker C: I would really appreciate that. [00:52:10] Speaker E: Kind of nod a bit. Is there anything we should know about fighting? Um. Is this one a vampire or is this another fucking werewolf? [00:52:18] Speaker C: No, this one's a vampire. Um, pretty old one, actually. [00:52:22] Speaker E: Anything we should know? [00:52:25] Speaker C: Not sure a whole lot about him, unfortunately. Um, other than he's old and potentially powerful, we. We're not sure what kind of vampire, what kind of powers he has. [00:52:43] Speaker E: In general. What are we looking at? [00:52:46] Speaker C: Oh, well, this is what I know. I know that vampires can take a lot of damage. They can move very quickly, impossibly quickly. They're very strong or can be very strong. Sometimes they can turn into animals or manipulate shadows. So basically every nightmare fuel thing you can think of is a possibility, right? [00:53:17] Speaker E: I'm a little bit more interested in how the fuck do we kill them. [00:53:20] Speaker C: Oh, lots of damage as fast as possible. Fire, sunlight, staking them in the heart will put them into a kind of half dead state, which makes them easier to kill. [00:53:34] Speaker E: At that, paddy kind of looks over at Tov, who mutters something in Russian, and Paddy actually answers in Russian, and then tov sort of nods and stands up and kind of wanders off, leaves out the back gate. Patti turns back to you and kind of gestures for you to continue. [00:53:56] Speaker C: Yeah, I didn't say anything offensive, did I? [00:53:59] Speaker E: Oh, no, he, uh, he went to get stuff to make steaks. [00:54:03] Speaker C: Oh, yeah, that would be very good idea. Um, I have a couple myself, but they're crudely designed. Um, but yes, just a piece of. [00:54:14] Speaker E: Fucking wood with a point on it. So I don't think ours are going to be any better, but as long as it's effective, right? [00:54:23] Speaker C: It does put them into a half dead state whereby they can be more easily killed. Yeah, cutting off their head will work, but, yeah, some of them have special weaknesses to certain different things. But again, without knowing what kind of vampire it is, I don't know what's going to be effective. And honestly, it kind of feels personal, like, things that they're weak against, but they need blood. Obviously. There's that. And they. They can get very bloody if they are low on blood or haven't had it in a while. So I assume this guy will probably have likely fed recently. And I don't know if we're gonna have to worry that, per se, but. Yeah, that's what I know. [00:55:22] Speaker E: All right. Thank you, boss. We'll do what we can. Hopefully we don't need our stakes, but it's a good thing to know that we should have them. [00:55:35] Speaker C: Yeah, it would be. You want to get them right in the heart, if you can, which I assume both of you would be able to do much easier than I can do. [00:55:47] Speaker E: Do our best. I think Isabella said she was going to be working on shit that goes boom, so. [00:55:58] Speaker C: That will often work very well, because, like I said, as much damage as you can as fast as possible. [00:56:07] Speaker E: Gotcha. All right, well, we'll get back at it. And we. I sent Patty to get some of the spare posts that you all use for the. For, like, setting up fences and stuff, so he might have to replace a few. But, um, they're sturdy and good quality, so unlikely to fall apart. [00:56:37] Speaker C: Right. What's a. What's a few fence posts for, you know. [00:56:42] Speaker E: Hey. And he returns to working on his guns. Unless you have anything else you need to say? [00:56:51] Speaker C: No. Nope. I will just let him go to it. [00:56:56] Speaker E: All right. Anything else that you need to do Arthur is so bad. [00:57:05] Speaker A: Yes. [00:57:06] Speaker E: You have a laundry list of things that you need to accomplish. So, yeah, I'm not going to make you roll to help Piper. You're doing other things. And occasionally piper stops you and asks questions and you like, look over her shoulder and say, you say this instead of that, or put this over here and that sort of thing. It's all very simple. [00:57:28] Speaker A: I'm very familiar with bureaucracy. [00:57:31] Speaker E: Okay. So I know that the first two things are specific to Isabelle and her thing. I think that we should talk about that second and focus on your gear and ordnance first. And we'll do the conversation with the boys after. Yeah, mostly so that we don't make the audience listen to me doing a bad irish accent for the entire first half of the show. [00:58:05] Speaker A: Yeah, that's fair. [00:58:08] Speaker E: So what do you have in mind for gear and ordnance? [00:58:13] Speaker A: Well, for ordinance, I want to make. I'm mostly going to focus on making things to, um, disable human opponents. Tear gas, smoke bombs, things like that. Um, that we can use to hopefully just at least take. Not. I don't know if it's enough to take them out of the fight, but it's enough to make it so that it's harder for them to help him. [00:58:41] Speaker E: Okay. Um, remind me how your improvised stuff and your ordnance, uh, how all that works. [00:58:53] Speaker A: So for ordnance, it is a composure science role. And for improvised gear, it is a intelligence plus craft, technology or science, depending on the tool. [00:59:10] Speaker E: Okay, well, let's start with your ordinance. I'm assuming you are going. I'll say that your tear gas and stuff will all count as ordinance. So let's start with that. How many rounds are you planning to make? [00:59:33] Speaker A: If I can just make three or four. [00:59:38] Speaker E: Okay. Is there a minimum success that you have to roll for ordnance to work? [00:59:42] Speaker A: Four. [00:59:43] Speaker E: Okay, so let's, let's roll. And we'll say that four has you succeed on making one. And for every extra success, you create more. And you can always, you can make multiple rolls, they can be extended. It just means that I'm gonna. I'm basically gonna factor that into how much time you have to spend on things before you leave. [01:00:07] Speaker A: Yeah. Um, would this count as chemistry? [01:00:14] Speaker E: I will allow you to use your chemistry specialty. [01:00:17] Speaker A: Cool. An unrelated question. What? What? Like, uh, well, actually it is related, but what desperation are we at? Just. [01:00:30] Speaker E: We are at three. [01:00:32] Speaker A: Three. [01:00:35] Speaker E: Danger. Four desperation, three. [01:00:41] Speaker A: All right, I won't use it yet, but we'll, we'll see. I'm gonna just because, I mean, I got a decent pool ugh. Gonna bend a willpower on that. [01:00:55] Speaker E: Okay. [01:01:00] Speaker A: No, I'm not going to be successful. [01:01:02] Speaker E: Oof. All right, well, like I said, you can roll more than once. That just cuts into your time. [01:01:12] Speaker A: Yeah. [01:01:12] Speaker E: So go ahead and give me another roll if you'd like to try again. [01:01:16] Speaker A: Yeah, I think the ordinance is a little bit more important than the improvised gear, so I will definitely be focusing on that. Okay. Five successes. [01:01:30] Speaker E: So that gives you two. You said you were looking for three or four. Do you want to roll again? [01:01:36] Speaker A: Yeah, I will roll one more time because. Yeah, this. [01:01:41] Speaker D: Okay. [01:01:44] Speaker A: Because with the improvised gear, I can really only ever, I can make it quickly because I have speedcrafting and. Yeah, so. Oh, yeah, that is very nice. [01:02:04] Speaker E: And with that being a critical, I will allow you to get one extra. So that puts you at two and then four. So that says total of six. [01:02:18] Speaker D: Yeah. [01:02:20] Speaker E: So you have six pieces of ordinance which you can divide between, like, you know, a tear gas or, you know, like a. Like a. Like a small shrapnel grenade or something like that. If you want to do, like, big, big kraboom stuff, that we're gonna have to roll separately for that. [01:02:41] Speaker A: But she's this. That's way too hard to hide, and that has too much of a chance for collateral damage for Isabel fair, you. [01:02:52] Speaker E: Know, and if only the original cell had thought of that a long time ago, things might be very different today. All right, is there anything else that you want to make? [01:03:07] Speaker A: If I have the time, I at least want to make something for myself to. Ideally, like, the idea I have is something that would boost my firearms. [01:03:22] Speaker E: Okay. [01:03:24] Speaker A: The idea of either, like, sort of the idea of, like, the quick harnesses, like the military has. [01:03:32] Speaker E: Right. [01:03:33] Speaker B: Uh. [01:03:36] Speaker E: Hmm. Okay, here. Here's what I will allow. I will allow you to make something like a quick harness, which could effectively, instead of adding, will give you an extra die on deck stuff because it'll make it easier for you to move. Or you can make, like, an improvised sight for your gun, which will add to your firearm. [01:04:13] Speaker A: Yeah, let's add to an improvised sight to the gun. [01:04:16] Speaker E: Okay. I believe firearms. Usually uses firearms. Usually uses composure, so. [01:04:23] Speaker A: Composure firearms? Yeah, either Dex or composure. Both are same. Same. Like, I would have three dice in either of those. But, you know, I can boost firearms itself. That's really what I'm looking for. [01:04:36] Speaker E: All right. [01:04:40] Speaker A: And, yeah, it would be crafts. It would be craft, technology or science. [01:04:49] Speaker E: Think you have higher science? Yeah, I do. Yeah. We'll say you can either use science or you can use technology. And Piper can help you. [01:05:00] Speaker A: Science is much better than the one extra dice that I get from Piper. [01:05:05] Speaker E: I don't remember exactly what your polls are. I have too many things open to also have all your shits open. [01:05:11] Speaker A: Yeah, you're good. So intelligence plus science, and this one same ordinances is difficulty for. [01:05:26] Speaker E: Okay. Would you like to use your desperation because you are doing entrepreneurial things? [01:05:31] Speaker A: Uh, yeah, I think this time I am going to use desperation. [01:05:37] Speaker E: Okay, do it to it. [01:05:43] Speaker A: And that is six successes. [01:05:46] Speaker E: Yeah. Um, I mean, you're obviously going to get a plus one to your firearms. I will say that I want to honor the six successes, but I also don't want to break it. Let's give you. We'll say that you get your additional site, and as you are working, you have a kind of a moment of brilliance. And you come up with an idea for a way to make what is effectively a couple of rubber bullets where they're likely to do some fucking damage when they hit these guys, but they're less likely to kill them. So you could say that you have, we'll say, like four rounds. Four, like improvised, like, rubber rounds that you could potentially use on them. You know, the downfall is that you'll have to swap clips, but, you know, you have the option, depending on what the situation is, to go in prepared for either only tangling with the vampire or tingling with the humans, or both, depending on what's happened. [01:07:12] Speaker A: Yeah. [01:07:13] Speaker E: All right. Anything else? [01:07:16] Speaker A: That is most of the edges stuff that I had in mind. [01:07:25] Speaker E: Okay. To do all of that takes, basically the full evening after your little group meeting. And most of the next day, you're working with some pretty highly volatile chemicals and things. At times, you took your time and that false start with originally trying to make those tear gas things, and they just didn't work. And you couldn't get the canisters to seal. And it was really frustrating. So that's about, like a day and a half of work, which is fine because you guys have a few, you know, like two to three days before you had to leave. On the evening of day two is when you finally have time to talk to your boys who have been doing a bunch of random stuff. When you go to find them and you see their little loadout in the rv, like, you pop into your lab medical area, which has also become the area where the bikes get parked. If everybody's going to be riding in the rv at one point or whatever, and both of their bikes are in there because they've been working on them and kind of outfitting them for this mission. You walk in and find that they've both got, like, they've converted their saddlebags to be able to carry, like, more weaponry. And among that weaponry, you find. You find not only full size stakes, but Paddy has taken a pair of his knuckle dusters and, like, somehow managed to make this weird, kind of fused, like, mini steak thing embedded in a pair of one of the knuckle dusters. Like, he looks like he is prepared to punch through some poor vampire sternum with stakes. They have a number of guns and of various makes and models. I, as the storyteller, do not know names of enough to be able to list them, but there's a bunch of them in various different calibres. You notice that they have made it a point to they've been very focused and very busy. Occasionally they stop and they go and they help Arthur with something or they help Rosanna gather things. You know. Patty, I'm going to take a little bit of a liberty and say that at Arthur's request. At one point, Patty, like, accompanies Rosanna to the store just so that nobody leaves alone. Yeah. Rosanna, for what it's worth, he's very respectful. He's pretty jovial. He's typical patty. He's just there to make sure that if anything goes sideways, you're not by yourself. [01:10:24] Speaker C: Rex, an irish joke or two while they're shopping. [01:10:26] Speaker E: Yeah, absolutely. [01:10:29] Speaker B: She'll talk to him about the birds, the corvids, and how she scared the shit out of arthur by saying a prayer to them. Oregon. [01:10:38] Speaker E: Yeah, that's fair. That particular trip was to buy food for the road trip and to pick up, like, extra bullets for everybody, things like that. So they've mostly been staying busy with helping everybody else, but also kind of working on their own kits so that they are fully prepared for whatever the fuck comes next. Isabel, could you make me a. What's an awareness role? [01:11:09] Speaker A: Sure. Ooh, successes. [01:11:24] Speaker E: Okay. When you walk in, Paddy's saddlebags are open and you spy amongst them a couple of aerosol cans and a rather large box of those really long matches that people use to light fireplaces. [01:11:46] Speaker A: Someone's incredibly prepared homemade flamethrowers. [01:11:51] Speaker E: Betty is a man on a mission. [01:11:55] Speaker A: And Isabelle loves him for that. [01:11:59] Speaker E: But they're both there working on their bikes, just kind of generally doing a tune up. They're both kind of muttering to each other in, in Russian. But when they walk in, Patty's eyes kind of light up when you walk in. Oh, there she is. Thought you were getting too busy, Horace? [01:12:18] Speaker A: No, just all this preparation is eating into my time. [01:12:27] Speaker E: Aye. I'm amazed you could stand up straight, the way you've been bent over that work desk for the past, what, almost 48 hours? [01:12:35] Speaker A: That's me. I feel it in my back. [01:12:40] Speaker E: Patty, without saying a word, gets up and moves behind you and starts to kind of work on rubbing the knots out of your back. So, boss, what do you got to say? [01:12:55] Speaker A: Wanted to check, see how everyone was preparing. And this will be both of your first time coming up against, actually violence against a vampire. So. Wanted to make sure we're both prepared. [01:13:20] Speaker E: I. We're, uh. We had a conversation with Arturo. Gave us an idea of what we. What we might be able to expect. So we've sort of been trying to make sure that we've covered all bases, all the ones we can. Anyway, um, I. When I was out with Rosanna, we. We went to the. To the medical supply store. I stocked up on gauze and tread and all that stuff. Um, it's not much, because, you know, they don't exactly sell the good stuff to just anyone who walks in off the street, but they sold, course, a fair bit of the basics. And I remember how the last big fight we all went through went. [01:14:04] Speaker A: So, yeah, it's better to be over prepared. [01:14:11] Speaker E: Especially because, no offense to Artur, but he bleeds a lot. [01:14:16] Speaker A: Yeah. Yeah, he does. And speaking of being prepared, Patti, do you still have the vials I gave you? [01:14:29] Speaker E: I do. They kind of glance at each other. You could see them kind of exchange a look like, where's this going? [01:14:43] Speaker A: As you both know, it is vampire blood. And if something were to happen. Feed them. Feed one of them to me, it'll heal me. Not a lot, but it'll get me back up on my feet. [01:15:08] Speaker E: All right, so if something goes really wrong. [01:15:13] Speaker A: Yeah, something goes really wrong. And because when a normal person drinks vampire blood, they. You know, I explained how, like, the ghoul thing worked. Get stronger, some abilities. And. This is an idea. You were both. I fully expect both of you to say no. But if I were to drink one of them before we went into the battle, I would be a little more resilient. [01:15:54] Speaker E: Addy kind of takes a deep breath and looks over at Tov, who has a little bit of a frown on his face. You think you need this, Tov? [01:16:10] Speaker A: I've based vampires before, and it's never an easy fight. I have never faced one that's as old as this one. And I will admit, it does have me incredibly scared. That's why I'm just proposing the idea. I leave it to both of you to decide if it is a good idea or not. But it is a weapon in our arsenal, and I would be remiss for not mentioning it. As far as I can tell, it's been long enough that whatever I drank before has, for the most part, worked its way out of my system. I can't do the eye thing anymore. Okay. [01:17:16] Speaker E: Isabelle, do me a favor. Make me. Are you trying to sway them to say, yes. [01:17:35] Speaker A: I think. [01:17:35] Speaker E: Or are you just trying to convince them to accept that you can be trusted with what's about to happen? [01:17:44] Speaker A: I think she is. [01:17:49] Speaker E: Trying to get. [01:17:50] Speaker A: Them to tell her if this is a horrible idea or a good idea, because there is a part of her that realizes she cannot be objective in this moment. So it is trying to put the information forward in the best way that she knows how to say. I care deeply about both of you, and I know both of you care about my safety. Is this like. This is an idea? [01:18:24] Speaker E: Okay. Make me charisma and persuasion, and I will give you a plus one. [01:18:40] Speaker A: So I have no dots in persuasion. [01:18:44] Speaker E: Okay, so. Well, hold on, because you tried. You're. Well, you are trying to present it from the perspective of a medical professional who's about to march into battle, which is just a weird situation to put them in. Yeah, you know what? We'll say charisma and medicine, and you get a plus one because of your relationship. This is such a weird dice pull to ask for. [01:19:14] Speaker A: I mean, it makes sense because she is like, this is me as a scientist. This is what this blood can do. It'll make me stronger, a little bit faster, a little more resilient, but leaving it in their hands to if this is a good idea or not. So. So somehow, seven dice. But that's mostly thanks to medicine. [01:19:41] Speaker E: Okay? [01:19:43] Speaker A: That is for successes. [01:19:46] Speaker E: All right, so just to remind me, you haven't bought the ability to speak Russian, right? [01:19:56] Speaker A: I have not, but I imagine she picked up a little bit just, like, some basic stuff in the last year of just, you know, being like, what does that word mean again? [01:20:05] Speaker E: Google. Roll me a raw intelligence check. Whoa. Too many r words. Listen, legacy. I saw that fucking look. It's still not as bad as boner phone. [01:20:29] Speaker A: That is no successes. [01:20:31] Speaker E: Okay. Yeah, you don't understand what they're talking about at all. They're talking very fast, but they are talking to each other. Their voices are even and quiet, but you can tell that it is a very serious conversation. And they both have pretty intense looks of concern and consideration. The only other time you have seen Patty look this serious was the day that you told him that you had ghouled yourself. And anytime they're playing poker, Toph always looks serious. Toph is just not a guy who, like, cracks a smile very often. In fact, if he does, you tend to worry that somebody's hurt. [01:21:17] Speaker A: Resting russian face. [01:21:19] Speaker E: Yep. Resting russian face. I like that. After a moment, they both kind of turn back to you, and Tov folds his arms over his chest and gives you a very stern look. We will allow this once, of course. After this is over, the samples go. [01:21:52] Speaker A: Of course. Then when we get home, I will dispose of everything that I have there while we're watching. Yes. [01:22:04] Speaker E: Okay. And tov nods, and patty nods, and he disappears out into the rv and then comes back. You're not entirely sure how he could have hidden it in the fridge, but you know that he did, because when he brings the vial back, it's cold, and he hands it over to you, and then they both kind of stand and watch and wait. [01:22:30] Speaker A: Yeah, I hand it as well between the two of them and just say thank you. And I'm serious. I'm serious. This is. I know how it sounds, saying last time, but I understand. And we'll open it and down it. [01:22:53] Speaker E: All right, I need you to using, I guess, the dice roller that we have. Just the normal dice bottom roll, a d four. [01:23:12] Speaker A: Which dice roll? Rolls dice. Cool. One, b four. Okay, it's rolling. Four dice. Nevermind. [01:23:25] Speaker E: Oh, no. Slash roll. Oh, it's. It's with the. The dice roll that has the d 20. [01:23:39] Speaker A: A one. [01:23:40] Speaker E: That is a one. Okay, let me. Let me look at the sheet that I made for ja da. Interesting. Okay, where's the thing? Sorry, guys, hold on one sec. [01:24:15] Speaker C: My, uh, it becomes obvious to the rest of the cell that Isabelle's done something stupid when she suddenly can fly. [01:24:29] Speaker A: No, I get feral weapons. Let's go. [01:24:32] Speaker C: She turns into a raccoon constantly. [01:24:42] Speaker E: And that would just make legacy happy, so. [01:24:45] Speaker C: Yep. [01:24:49] Speaker E: Isabelle would be the new Disney princess of HHS. [01:24:55] Speaker B: Rosanna suddenly appears with, like, five more vials of blood. She does not answer how she got those. [01:25:04] Speaker E: Sorry, sorry, sorry. My demi plane got all weird and now I have to, like, back out and back in. [01:25:15] Speaker A: Isabella plan to tell the rest of the cell. Maybe once everything's over. [01:25:21] Speaker E: They may just notice. [01:25:23] Speaker A: Yeah, there's a good chance. [01:25:25] Speaker C: Like I said, she's just hovering constantly at this. Like that's not normal. Listen, that's not normal. [01:25:30] Speaker E: Roll me. Ba ba ba. I need you to roll me a. Roll me another d four. But I want you to call even or odd before you do it. Okay? [01:25:50] Speaker A: Let's go even. [01:25:52] Speaker E: Okay. [01:25:55] Speaker A: A one again. [01:25:57] Speaker E: All right, this is hilarious to me. All right, cool. I'm gonna drop something in your journal. [01:26:21] Speaker A: Okay? [01:26:24] Speaker E: The weirdest option, but it's what you got. [01:26:28] Speaker A: I mean, it's not bad. [01:26:32] Speaker E: And, you know, you obviously get a dot of the power. Yeah, I don't necessarily want Arthur and everybody else in the party to know yet, so everybody will find out later. Okay. Anything else that you want to talk to the boys about? Patty does point out that he's only got the one vial left. Yeah. So he will keep it with him in case you need it. [01:27:10] Speaker A: It's just the idea of if I go down, that'll start the healing process in me and hopefully get me back up. [01:27:19] Speaker E: Understood. [01:27:20] Speaker A: And that is a desperate measure. If there's nothing else you can do, use that. [01:27:26] Speaker E: Don't do it unless somebody's dying. Got it. [01:27:30] Speaker A: Specifically, she'll mostly say herself, because she doesn't inflict that on anyone else. Because if anybody else is down and she is up, she can focus on stabilizing them and making sure they don't bleed out. [01:27:47] Speaker E: One would hope. Anything else. [01:27:57] Speaker A: You know, just enjoys the time that you know, before to leave and after this very serious moment between them, you know, relax. [01:28:09] Speaker E: Okay. Piper. [01:28:13] Speaker D: Yo. [01:28:14] Speaker E: It takes you a hot minute to get all the paperwork done and send it off. I know that you have things that you need to do with your robots. Is there anything that you need to roll for? [01:28:24] Speaker D: Um, the thing with the, um, the one on the ground might take a roll just to get the decision tree done. [01:28:33] Speaker E: Okay. [01:28:34] Speaker D: I believe it's resolve plus technology, but let me go double check. Complicated decision trees need a successful resolve plus technology test at an appropriate difficulty. [01:28:48] Speaker E: Okay, so, um, I don't know what decision tree we're making right now, so could you explain to me what you're trying to accomplish? [01:28:58] Speaker D: So the one this is is essentially, if for some reason, she loses her sunglasses in battle, and in doing so, loses her ability to use fort the unnatural, the drone immediately will cease following manual commands, okay, until she has one, gotten the sunglasses back, and to put a specific code back into the drone in that order. [01:29:30] Speaker E: Okay. [01:29:31] Speaker D: Until then, it will, in order, fulfill whatever its last given order was. Attempt to non lethally subdue piper by knocking her unconscious or restraining her, and then protect her from any further harm until she regains consciousness. [01:29:54] Speaker E: Interesting. Okay, I would say that that qualifies as a complicated decision. Tree. [01:30:02] Speaker D: I would say so, too. [01:30:04] Speaker E: Let's make some rolls. [01:30:08] Speaker D: Right. How to resolve technology is seven. Goddamn it. I'm trying to use the wrong robot again. [01:30:19] Speaker E: Stop it. [01:30:23] Speaker D: Uh, three. [01:30:28] Speaker E: Um, I would say for the first one, which is for the first step, which is losing your. Your glasses. Three is probably enough because all it's going to do is go. Is basically go solo and fulfill the last command it has. If you want to do more, we'll have to roll again. [01:30:44] Speaker D: Okay. Yeah, I will do that. Roll a little bit better. Well, that is a little bit better. [01:30:56] Speaker E: That is indeed a little bit better. At four. Yeah. So the first step will have it break off so that it's no longer taking commands. The second step is fine in that you have to get your glasses back on and you have to enter the code in order to regain access. Let's roll again. That's not gonna be enough. That's enough. To get it. To get it. To try to subdue you one more time. To get it. To try and protect you. [01:31:46] Speaker A: All right. [01:31:46] Speaker E: This is going to be the hardest. [01:31:48] Speaker D: Yeah. Which is understandable. I will. Seven. Sorry, I can't count. [01:31:56] Speaker E: Yeah, no, that's good. Seven. Seven will do it. It will. You basically have it set so that once you're unconscious, it is going to basically park itself over top of you. [01:32:07] Speaker D: Yep. [01:32:09] Speaker E: And it'll almost behave like a turret would until you wake up. Do you want to make one more roll to try to have it recognize the identities of your companions in case they try to come save your life? [01:32:28] Speaker C: Yes. [01:32:34] Speaker D: Awful. [01:32:36] Speaker E: Yeah, I'll say that that works. Four should be enough. It's basically facial recognition. Yeah. Now, the drawback is that if, for whatever reason, Mister Barrow has the ability to. To look like somebody else or to make it think that he is one of them, it will not protect you from him. Yep. [01:32:54] Speaker D: Okay, listen. It's not foolproof, but it's as close as she could make. [01:32:59] Speaker E: Correct. All right. Anything else? [01:33:09] Speaker D: Would setting up the little scout drone to be able to give her warnings, like automated warnings, that something is that, like people or civilians or such are coming to the airport. Like going through the front doors would probably be the trigger. Would that require a roll that I. [01:33:29] Speaker E: Would not make you roll for? If you want it to be able to tell the difference between your companions, including Patty and tov, I would make you have to roll. [01:33:37] Speaker D: All right, I will do the roll for that then. [01:33:38] Speaker E: As facial recognition is notoriously unreliable. [01:33:41] Speaker D: Oh, yeah. That's only three. [01:33:48] Speaker E: It will not cover everybody with only three. [01:33:52] Speaker D: That's good enough. [01:33:53] Speaker E: Okay, you are pretty sure that it will recognize, at the very least, you and Isabel. Okay? But it keeps throwing up flags with any of the boys, and sometimes it works for Rosanna, and sometimes it doesn't. You get the feeling that it may have something to do with Rosanna's hair, because when she moves around a lot, her hair falls into her face, and that makes it harder for it to. And you have to test it in situations where sometimes her hair is in her face because you don't know what the situation's going to be. So the boys are 50 50, Rosanna's 50 50. You and Isabelle should be safe. [01:34:34] Speaker A: All right? [01:34:36] Speaker D: And the last thing is, this is kind of in preparation for when they actually get there. She basically wants to get, like, footage of, like, security cam footage of the airport when it's more or less empty, that she can then run on a loop later. [01:35:00] Speaker E: Okay, um, let's. [01:35:08] Speaker D: And she does have global access and the. The perk for surveillance footage. [01:35:16] Speaker E: Have you used your backdoor panopticon yet? [01:35:19] Speaker D: I have not. [01:35:21] Speaker E: Okay, you don't have to. I just wanted to know if that was an option so you can do an int and technology with your hacking specialty, and I'd even allow desperation dice. [01:35:37] Speaker D: I'm in despair. [01:35:38] Speaker E: Oh, right, you can't. Okay, so no desperation dice. Or you could use backdoor panopticon, which will just work, but you won't get to use it again for the rest of the season. And you don't know what's coming when it comes to dealing with Rin and everything. [01:35:54] Speaker D: I'm just gonna do the roll. [01:35:56] Speaker E: Okay. [01:35:59] Speaker D: Seven. [01:36:00] Speaker E: You're fine. This is easy. Piper. So the one thing I will say is that Piper works every. Every minute that she isn't asleep for the time it takes up until you're supposed to leave. [01:36:16] Speaker D: Oh, yeah. [01:36:19] Speaker E: Y'All have seen Piper in his own before, but this is a whole nother animal. It's like Piper is almost a different person for a little while. Something about you're not sure if it's exactly what she's doing or if it's the stakes of what's coming or if it's the fact that she can almost taste something close to freedom for the first time in a long time. But, yeah, Piper is. Is hyper focused, and it seems to be, like, covering every base she possibly can. And she has prepared a number of contingencies, including looped footage of the airport. Piper, why don't you read the report that you wrote out? I didn't think you'd actually do it. But since you did, I'm gonna make you read it. [01:37:13] Speaker D: I figured. Alright. Operation Wheelbarrow. Target, Andrew Barrow. Blank body, no less than 150 years old. Exact age unknown. Requested requisition services. Assistance in mitigating the fallout of the encounter, scrubbing footage, ensuring news channels don't air the story, etcetera. Operation plan. While approaching the airport, Miss Ashe intends to interfere with the security system to hinder any potential reinforcements that are not contacted directly by direct witnesses, as well as to mitigate any work that needs to be done following the operation. To further hinder reinforcements, the team will have. I only have placeholder text because I don't know how to refer to Patty and Tov in, you know, government official ways. [01:37:56] Speaker E: Yeah. They have provided you their names? [01:37:59] Speaker D: Yes. We'll have Patty and Tov working to provide oversight and a fiscal barrier to those that may seek to intervene from the outside. Additionally, Miss Ashe will deploy a drone to provide an additional set of proverbial eyes to provide warnings to the main team. Doctor Moran will supply the group with less than lethal munitions and ordnance to aid in the incapacitation of any individuals that may interfere with the operation on the targets behalf, such as his pertinent personal retinue. The target is expected to arrive in the airport at insert time here, at which point the team intends to move on the target. The target is confirmed to travel with at least three other individuals, one of which has been confirmed to be mortal, or at least close enough to it. Once the target has made it to the ground and entered the airport, the team will move to intercept the target quickly, seeking to incapacitate his retinue and other mortals as quickly as possible. An additional drone will provide ground support and directly engage the target with Mister Dent, provided the situation permits it. While Doctor Lebel and Doctor Moran will engage from a distance, Miss Ashe will provide support to the group from a distance, providing a measure of protection from the target's potential ability to display the minds of those they face. However, she will largely be focused on operating the drone on the ground, engaging directly only if absolutely necessary. [01:39:14] Speaker E: Okay. Piper. [01:39:17] Speaker D: Yeah? [01:39:18] Speaker E: Please roll me your intelligence. Plus, do you have any dots in academics? Uh, yes. [01:39:27] Speaker D: You have academics too. [01:39:29] Speaker E: Okay. Plus academics. And please add, how many dots in academics does Isabel and Rosanna. All right, let's roll an additional two for those two. And a plus one, because that's just fucking awesome and I want to honor it as a GM, so. So, Int. Academics. Plus five. [01:39:55] Speaker D: Plus five. Okay. Wait, no, I have. I have an intelligence of four. [01:40:05] Speaker E: Six successes six is pretty friggin good. Okay. You aren't told exactly what all they are going to provide. They confirm that they will provide support, in short, ensuring minimal interference from local authorities. They do. I'll let you know that an or has been basically cordoned off at the closest hospital. And Doctor Moran has been granted temporary. Basically like a temporary guest pass to use the or in case something goes wrong. [01:40:54] Speaker D: All right. [01:41:00] Speaker E: They will not be providing anyone on the ground for you because you didn't ask for it. But they do allow you to know. They do let you know that they will be doing what they can to ensure that local authorities do not intervene. Seen any potential 911 calls get rerouted, that sort of thing. You're not really given specifics because they're not super inclined to let somebody with Piper's background unless she's working on the actual payroll, know exactly what all of their toys are. But, yeah, they seem very impressed and are very quick to confirm that they will fulfill the things that you have requested. [01:41:51] Speaker D: All right. [01:41:57] Speaker E: Oh, one of them also says that there were two other flight manifests that were supposed to touch down literally within an hour of the one that Barrow comes in on, which means that they have a fairly small window that they were all supposed to land in, which means that, like, any and even the tiniest delay could fuck up everything. And you could end up with three planes coming in at roughly the same time. But they have rerouted one of the two others. And sister Mary Christopher has. You can tell that she's smiling over the phone when she tells you that the other one is going to suffer some minor technical complications that keep it grounded for an extra hour. Ah. So you have an extra hour to get what you need to do done and to clear out before that other plane shows up. They couldn't completely reroute both of them without creating a suspicion. [01:43:02] Speaker C: Yeah. [01:43:04] Speaker E: Okay. All right, last call. Any conversations, anybody needs to have, anything anybody needs to accomplish before you pile into the rv and leave. [01:43:20] Speaker A: Nothing on my end. [01:43:23] Speaker E: Okay. Isabelle, the day you all are supposed to leave, Patty and Tov are up at, like, the crack of fucking dawn. They pull their bikes out of the storage space, completely sanitize the entire room. Like, floor to ceiling. It smells like bleach the next time you go in there, bleach and ammonia. But it's completely sanitized, just in case this ends up having to be the med bay that it was originally intended for. [01:43:52] Speaker D: Do we get some time? Do we get a night to sleep before we have to actually move? [01:43:59] Speaker E: Oh, yeah. Yeah. I mean, it takes you every bit of the time that you're awake, but you all had time to sleep during sleep. [01:44:06] Speaker D: I just wanted the double chin full of days. [01:44:08] Speaker E: Yeah, you were busy during all of your waking hours, but your waking hours were not every hour. The assumption is that all of you were sleeping at least a solid six to eight. So anything else? Rosanna, you look like you might have. Okay, cool. All right, everybody piles. Well, you all pile into the rv. Rosanna, if you want to take your bike, you have to ride it. Otherwise, you leave it here at the compound and come get it after. [01:44:43] Speaker B: Yeah, I'm not leaving my bike at the compound. I'll ride it. [01:44:47] Speaker E: Okay, that's very cool. It is a fair distance to get from Louisiana to Houston. It's not a quick drive because the boys sanitized the medical bay area. That means that you can't put your bike in the rv so that you guys can keep driving, which means that you have to stop overnight, which, unfortunately, means that y'all get a very brief, a very brief sleep on the day in between. Or at least you sleep in shifts so that the sleep can be as short as possible. Rosanna and the boys are going to be eepy by the time you get there, but they all make do. Okay, Rosanna, make me a straight. Well, not straight. Let's do a stamina plus athletics roll. I just want to see just how fatigued you are, uh, when you have only gotten to sleep a few hours and. And then immediately gotten up and got, gotten back on the motorcycle all day. The boys are accustomed to this. You, a little less. So. [01:46:03] Speaker B: Um. Ooh, uh, drinks. [01:46:09] Speaker E: Okay, you're fine. Um, you're. You're. You're a little sore. Uh, you're a little saddle sore, but you'll be all right. You get some good advice from Patty and Tov. Patty gives you some stuff out of one of his saddlebags during that stopover. Overnight, you end up smelling like tiger balm for the rest of the next day and a half, but it really helps loosen up the muscles in your thighs, which are the worst part. All right, you all arrive in Houston, well outside of Houston, at this small, private airport. A couple of. I want to say it's about 11:00 p.m. it's several hours after the sun goes down. You guys roll up. The place is not completely empty, but far more empty than you figure it probably normally would be, thanks to the fact that at least two flights are either not showing up or not showing up on time. This airport has a small central building, which is where if people need to go inside to do, like, paperwork or to pick up luggage or anything like that, they go inside. You do get the feeling from the way that it is set up that if people have enough money and have a private plane, they don't typically go inside. You assume that the building is either for people who can't necessarily afford to have their own plane or are literally flying in from out of the country and have to do custom stuff. That tends to happen inside. This. You know, this is like. This is. This is one of those places that, like, the obscenely wealthy or the obscenely lucky tend to come through. There is a few layers of really tall chain link fences around most of the airport's land, and certainly around where the runways are, you know, to keep teenagers from getting in and being stupid, that sort of thing. There's a couple of guard towers out in, like, the far flung parts of everything, where they can watch over, like, the edges of everything. Piper knows enough about the security system. Having looped so much footage. She knows where all of the cameras are, that sort of thing. Piper, when you guys arrive, are you instructing people to avoid cameras, or do you, like, immediately hack in and start and set the footage? [01:49:20] Speaker D: She's immediately jumping in and starting the footage to lose. [01:49:24] Speaker E: Okay, make me one more tech and int or int and tech and guess you can use your hacking. This is mostly just to make sure that you can get back in and set everything up to work the way that you need it to. Fuck. Three. Okay. Uh, you've been in their system before. Um, so it's not hard, but it takes a little bit longer than you expected, and you feel like the transition might be rougher than you wanted it to be. Um, you're not entirely sure how much of you guys is left on there. That's one of those things that once everything is said and done, you might be able to get in and fix it if you've got the time and you don't have to run like hell. So that is an up in the air kind of question as to how bad that's going to be for you. [01:50:27] Speaker D: All right, well, thankfully, this was just in case and to make other people's jobs easier. [01:50:35] Speaker E: Correct. All right, anything else anybody wants to do as you arrive? You guys have got maybe 20 to 30. Less than 20 minutes before this plane arrives. [01:50:49] Speaker A: Isabelle is going to give Rosanna and Arthur each one of the things of tear gas and keep two for herself. And then I also made two just sort of small shrapnel grenades, just in case. [01:51:07] Speaker E: Who's getting the shrapnel grenades? [01:51:10] Speaker A: Isabelle's gonna hold onto those for the time being. [01:51:12] Speaker B: Okay, I am going to activate my long bow. And I want to start getting it ready, have my shield and get its. [01:51:28] Speaker E: Bonus turn on its wards and all that stuff. [01:51:33] Speaker C: I was thinking the same thing. [01:51:35] Speaker E: Both of you go ahead and roll to activate all your stuff. [01:51:38] Speaker D: Yeah. I will also roll for the ward of thwart the unnatural. [01:51:43] Speaker E: Okay. [01:51:45] Speaker C: I will hold off on rolling the ward for repel until such a time as it becomes necessary. But I'm gonna work on my artifact for right now. Wrong button. [01:51:54] Speaker B: Yeah, mine. [01:51:58] Speaker E: You needed what, three or four? [01:52:00] Speaker D: Piper, it doesn't. This one doesn't give a number. [01:52:04] Speaker E: Okay, we'll say that it works. [01:52:07] Speaker D: So it's equal to an area of roughly 2 meters. With an additional meter for each success in the margin. But it doesn't give a difficulty to roll again. [01:52:17] Speaker C: The difficulty, I think, is supposed to be set by whatever. So the wards and stuff are supposed to be against a particular enemy. So I think that's where the difficulties come in. That's why I was waiting. That's why I'm waiting to put my word out. [01:52:29] Speaker E: Because I'm allowing you guys to do a lot of this stuff ahead of time. Rather than forcing you to use an action in combat to do it. I'm just going to use that as his difficulty to roll against. So if you want the higher number, then use the willpower. [01:52:46] Speaker D: Yeah. [01:52:48] Speaker E: Okay, so I understand I should do. [01:52:50] Speaker C: My work now because we're prepping. [01:52:52] Speaker E: Yeah, I understand what they were going for, but the whole point of hunting is that you're supposed to prepare. You're supposed to go in kind of with everything ready. So it doesn't make sense to force you to use turns in combat. [01:53:06] Speaker D: Yeah. [01:53:07] Speaker E: Yeah. It's just. [01:53:08] Speaker D: It's just weird because wart. This is just for the size. [01:53:13] Speaker E: Yep. Gotcha. Gotcha. [01:53:14] Speaker D: I know a lot of times there aren't. It's not even necessary to roll, but I will. [01:53:20] Speaker A: Okay. [01:53:21] Speaker D: Fuck me, I guess. [01:53:26] Speaker E: Right? Four isn't bad, so that's fine. [01:53:33] Speaker D: It just determines how close people have to stand to me to get the effect. [01:53:38] Speaker E: So how much of a distance can they all get? [01:53:41] Speaker D: Jesus. Unclear. Okay, two yards plus whatever the margin of success was. [01:53:49] Speaker E: We'll say, we'll say they. They have to be within, I think. Is it. [01:54:00] Speaker C: Is it two? It's two yards. Yeah, two. It's like 6ft and then each feet out from there. Right? That's what we're saying. [01:54:07] Speaker E: Right. But I have to determine what the original thing is, because there. [01:54:11] Speaker D: It doesn't give one. [01:54:14] Speaker E: We'll say that for every two yards, for the. For the first success, and for every success after that gives you another yard. We'll say, yeah. So up to five. Up to what? Four yards. [01:54:32] Speaker D: Five. [01:54:33] Speaker E: Five yards. I'm bad at math. Okay. There was a lot of rolls. So now I have to go back over what everybody was doing. I'm so sorry. So we've got the distance for thwarthia natural. Done. Scott, what was your first role for? [01:54:48] Speaker C: So, my first role was activating the artifact and its gotcha abilities, which I got. Oh, shoot. This thing bounced around, which I got. Which I got seven. Five. Five successes. Yeah. Five successes on that one. So that activated. [01:55:05] Speaker E: So I've got the specialness legacy. Was yours to activate yours? [01:55:11] Speaker B: Yeah. My first role was to activate my artifact and all of its doodads. [01:55:16] Speaker E: Okay. [01:55:17] Speaker C: And she also succeeded. [01:55:19] Speaker E: Yep. [01:55:20] Speaker C: And then my. [01:55:21] Speaker E: Your eight successes was for what? [01:55:24] Speaker C: My eight successes was because we were discussing the. The warding thing and the prepping for that. [01:55:29] Speaker E: Right. And that's the difficulty that. That he has to roll against. It's eight, essentially. Yeah. Yeah. Oh, okay. [01:55:35] Speaker C: To try. [01:55:36] Speaker E: To. [01:55:36] Speaker C: Try to get within. Like, we can approach him and do things, but he. To come at me and anyone within that ward, essentially, he has to. [01:55:47] Speaker D: Well, if you. If you approach him, you have to roll again. [01:55:51] Speaker C: Yes, I know. Yeah. Yeah. [01:55:53] Speaker E: Okay. So make a note. That's a lot of fucking distance that you can keep between him and you if everybody stays close to you. All right. That'll be interesting. [01:56:05] Speaker A: Yeah. [01:56:05] Speaker C: That's where. That's where the two. Because that's just the physical attacking. Right. So then pipers is the mental powers, essentially. [01:56:14] Speaker E: Okay. [01:56:16] Speaker B: And mine, my second role is for my repel the unnatural. And I have a. I have a ward on mine. [01:56:26] Speaker C: Yeah. I think we're doing the same thing. [01:56:28] Speaker B: Yeah. So. Because I don't know how close I'm going to be to Arthur when it comes to fighting. [01:56:36] Speaker E: Right. To be clear, y'all stops him from getting closer, but not necessarily from attacking you if he has something that he can do at a distance. [01:56:45] Speaker B: Correct. [01:56:46] Speaker E: Okay. [01:56:48] Speaker A: Yes. [01:56:48] Speaker C: He can't move toward somebody said attacking. [01:56:51] Speaker E: And I went, that seems overpowered. [01:56:55] Speaker C: If he has a gun, I think that doesn't stop him from using the gun. [01:56:57] Speaker A: It just stops him from using brawler powers. [01:57:00] Speaker C: Yeah. It's the idea being like. It feels like it was written more for, like, werewolves who want to come up and tear you apart, right? [01:57:07] Speaker E: Yeah. Gotcha, gotcha. I mean, vampires want to come up and tear you apart frequently, too, so I have to ask. Okay. [01:57:14] Speaker C: Yeah. [01:57:15] Speaker E: Cool, cool, cool, cool, cool, cool, cool, cool. Isabel, do you have anything that you need to activate? Any extra rolls that you have to make? [01:57:22] Speaker A: No, no. [01:57:23] Speaker E: Isabelle just gives out toys. That's how Isabel gets ready for. [01:57:26] Speaker A: Gets ready for a fight and gets. [01:57:28] Speaker E: Goes already and gets Gozer ready. Gozer is a good boy. He's happy to be here. He's got his game face on. [01:57:36] Speaker A: He's got nice little vest on, too. [01:57:40] Speaker E: Oh, you got him. Doggy Kevlar. I love that. [01:57:45] Speaker C: Yes. [01:57:47] Speaker D: As a note, I will roll for sense the unnatural on my first turn, just to get a proper tone of, you know, who's a vampire, who's not. [01:57:58] Speaker E: Okay, we're gonna do that once you're actually, like, in there. [01:58:02] Speaker D: I was just letting you know. [01:58:05] Speaker E: Okay, I would like everybody to roll me. Wits plus awareness, please. Two. Three. [01:58:29] Speaker C: Sorry, I still creating my pool. Oh, there we go. Three. [01:58:35] Speaker E: Damn. All right. [01:58:39] Speaker C: We prepped for this, man. [01:58:41] Speaker E: You did. Isabelle is busy talking to her boys, so she doesn't notice at first. She's having a quick discussion with Patty and Tov. Patty verifies that, yes, he has the final vial. They confirm that they don't really need any extra tools of the trade from Isabelle. Neither of them seems like they're going to be getting off with their bikes before they have to, which seems weird, but you know, Isabelle, you know better than to question, uh, the boys are. The boys are very effective. Just let them do their job. It's kind of. [01:59:22] Speaker A: They know what they're doing with this. So Isabel trusts them. [01:59:26] Speaker E: All right. What the rest of you notice that Isabel does not, as she is busy having this conversation, is that there are lights in the air kind of rapidly descending from a small but pretty fucking high end private jet. You can tell that the jet, as it comes down for a landing, and Isabel, you notice as it gets close enough to actually land, land properly. You could tell that it has windows, but the covers are pulled down over all of them. And you can see two pilots in the cockpit as it touches down on the Runway and begins to taxi towards the hangars nearby where planes get parked overnight and things like that. Both of the boys climb back onto their bikes, give you a kiss on the cheek. You can see that either that both of them have weapons kind of conveniently tucked into what looks like makeshift holsters and things like that that they've kind of attached to the front of the seat. Of their bike, where they will be easy to grab while they're riding, but they don't necessarily have to actively hold. Um, what are you guys gonna do? As this, as this plane touches down and begins to taxi towards the area where they typically would park, and a ladder would be put down so that people could disembark, or not a ladder, but stairs would be put down so that they could disembark directly under the tarmac. You do see a car pulling out of one of the hangers and headed in that direction, like they're gonna be picked up. [02:01:31] Speaker C: I really wanna go out there and take him on the tarmac. [02:01:35] Speaker D: It sounds like that's gonna be our best option. [02:01:37] Speaker A: It really is gonna be our best option. [02:01:39] Speaker B: Out of curiosity, what? Is there anything, like, any crates or anything on the tarmac? [02:01:51] Speaker E: Not really. This is a place where planes and the, like, come and go. They're not gonna have a lot of loose stuff out there because it would too easily damage the planes. [02:02:01] Speaker B: I meant, like, so a lot of airports have, like, the metal, like, boxes and stuff that they'll use for, like, transporting, like, luggage, suitcases, like, equipment, like the big boxes that they use. [02:02:15] Speaker E: Right. This is, this isn't a big commercial airport, you know, so you're not, you don't, you're not going to see a whole lot of that. There's a couple of, like, carts that it looks like they might, like. People who work here might use if they need to go a long distance along the runways, but they're not close to where the plane is. They're all parked off to the side. All right. [02:02:34] Speaker B: So there's nothing that I could use for, like, keeping low. That's what I'm looking for. I'm looking for, like, a way to kind of, like, hide. So when I first attack, this guy doesn't necessarily see me coming. [02:02:52] Speaker E: Roll me just a d. Ten. [02:02:54] Speaker B: Okay. Eight. [02:03:06] Speaker E: Okay. Your options for that are to stay on the opposite side of the fence from, from the plane and tuck yourself into a place that's mostly shadow, where, you know, you'd be a little bit more enclosed. It's not quite the kind, it's not quite as fully covering as you want, but you'd certainly kind of be in an out of sight, out of mind position. There is also what looks like some sort of, like, electrical box, like a, like a, not like a full size, big ass transformer, but, you know, there's like, those kind of, like, boxy green things that people occasionally have, like, out front of their houses. Rosanna is a petite enough in terms of height that if she were to crouch down behind, it would be able to mostly hide herself. Okay. All right. [02:04:07] Speaker B: I will. I'll keep probably tucked behind the electric box. Just because vampires are weird, we don't know what this guy's capable of. [02:04:24] Speaker E: Okay. [02:04:28] Speaker C: Yeah. [02:04:31] Speaker E: What, Scott? [02:04:32] Speaker C: Nothing. Nothing. No, it's fine. So we're going out, right? We're headed toward the. [02:04:37] Speaker E: Headed toward. Are you guys. Are the rest of you taking the rv or are you leaving the rv in the parking lot or leaving the. [02:04:44] Speaker A: Rv in the parking lot? [02:04:45] Speaker E: Yeah, going in on foot, I think. [02:04:48] Speaker C: Yeah. I don't know that we intended to smash the fence with the rv and just roll down the tarmac in an rv. That would definitely look bad, but it is faster escape. [02:04:59] Speaker E: That's why I'm asking. You guys have discussed taking the rv into dangerous situations before. That's why I'm asking. [02:05:08] Speaker B: Hmm. [02:05:10] Speaker D: Or we can hope this car doesn't leave and just steal a car. [02:05:14] Speaker C: Yeah. There's also that option. [02:05:20] Speaker D: I don't know. [02:05:23] Speaker E: It's a chain link fence. It's not going to break down your rv to go through it. You're just going to do a lot of damage along the way. [02:05:30] Speaker C: Right. It's just going to be subtle. [02:05:36] Speaker A: We're trying to do a little bit of subtlety here. [02:05:39] Speaker C: Yeah. [02:05:40] Speaker A: We're not trying to just be outright. [02:05:42] Speaker C: Domestic terrorists that the Si has to do a bunch of stuff to cover up. We're just trying to. [02:05:47] Speaker A: We went on to go talk to a guy. [02:05:49] Speaker C: Stuff happened. I don't know. [02:05:51] Speaker A: Yeah, because, I mean, Isabel's reasoning for leaving it away is because if anything does happen and anybody gets anything, that RV is so easy to track. [02:06:05] Speaker E: I. [02:06:06] Speaker D: Would say leave the RV. [02:06:08] Speaker B: That'd be worth it for if we're able to get them in for the boys and Rosanna to keep their bikes a little bit close by. [02:06:18] Speaker C: Yeah, the bikes might be a different situation entirely. [02:06:20] Speaker E: Well, the bike. The boys are. The boys are going to be on their bikes. Rosanna could keep her bike as close by as she would like. You're not going to have time to get it onto the tarmac, but you could have it close to the gate or something like that for you. Piper, are you staying in the rv? No, you're going. Okay. Cool, cool, cool, cool, cool, cool, cool, cool. I'm so excited. All right. [02:06:47] Speaker A: And it's a bill. All the words Isabelle will be following, not necessarily keeping incredibly close to Arthur, but, like, close ish. [02:06:58] Speaker C: Yeah. You're gonna want to stay close with it. Not necessarily right on my shoulder, but. [02:07:03] Speaker A: Within a few feet. [02:07:04] Speaker D: All right, Piper's probably gonna be with Isabel. [02:07:08] Speaker C: That's fine. Arthur will go be in front and be the front. [02:07:12] Speaker E: Arthur's being flanked by the girls and a robot. And a robot. I do. [02:07:23] Speaker A: I think. [02:07:24] Speaker E: Piper, I need you to understand that. I know that you said the robot is more like a spider, but every time I picture this robot, I picture the turrets from portal that, like, walk around. You know, that's what. That's what pops into my head every time we talk about this fucking robot. I know that that's not what it is because those are really precarious and fall over really easily. But. [02:07:52] Speaker C: As we're going out on the tarmac, as we go to leave the building, Arthur has a sudden realization that he's about to be the front person to talk to a guy that is a vampire. And so as they go out the door, he just reaches up and removes his collar and sticks in his pocket because it will look less weird if he's not a priest. [02:08:19] Speaker E: I was really hoping you wouldn't remember that you had that on. No. [02:08:22] Speaker C: Yeah. [02:08:23] Speaker E: But I'm quite proud of you. Arthur, what is the dipole that you are supposed to roll for your PTSD flop? [02:08:36] Speaker C: I think it's just a willpower roll. I don't think we've ever had a roll set for it. [02:08:42] Speaker E: Make me a willpower roll. [02:08:44] Speaker C: All right. That'd be six successes. [02:09:01] Speaker E: Arthur is good. You are solid. There's a moment as you are walking along that your mind goes back well over a year to pulling into the parking structure underneath of an apartment building with Rosanna and Jillian and Zephyr and Victoria fully intent on killing a vampire. Sure of yourself, confident in what you're about to do and the righteousness of it all and your ability to carry it out. And your heart starts to slam really hard in your chest. And that's when you remember your collar. And maybe it's the distraction of remembering that the color is there. Maybe it is that you are confident in how far you all have come and the array of skills that you all have brought to bear and the amount of preparation you've done. But something allows you to muscle down the swelling of panic and shove it back into its box, so to speak, deal with that later. That's a breakdown you can have when there's nobody else around. [02:10:22] Speaker C: Yeah. [02:10:23] Speaker E: And you say a little prayer and focus, and you all watch as you are approaching. Oh, Rosanna, I'm sorry. Will you please make a Dex and stealth roll? Yeah. While that's happening, the rest of you are walking, I'm gonna assume, in a pretty quick clip, but not running across the tarmac as you watch a town car pull up in front of this private jet who has technology? Not. [02:11:13] Speaker C: Not Arthur. [02:11:14] Speaker D: Definitely not Arthur. [02:11:16] Speaker A: Okay, yeah, I think everyone else but Arthur. [02:11:19] Speaker E: Rosanna, you're a little bit too far away to make this role, but I will allow Isabel and Piper, because you guys have gotten closer to the town car. Make me a roll of InT and. [02:11:30] Speaker B: Technology or successes for the stealth roll. [02:11:34] Speaker E: Perfect. Thank you. [02:11:38] Speaker D: Eight successes on the intechnology. [02:11:40] Speaker E: Goddamn Isabel. Or. All right, Isabelle. It just looks like a really nice town car. Piper, that shit's armored. It's one of those very subtle armored jobs where they know that they're picking up somebody important or somebody paranoid or both. You know? If they manage to get into there, y'all are gonna be hard pressed to get to them. [02:12:15] Speaker C: This is why I was like, we better take them on tarmac. [02:12:19] Speaker E: All right, she will. [02:12:22] Speaker D: As they're walking. Relay. That car's armored. [02:12:25] Speaker E: Cool. Sure. [02:12:26] Speaker D: We get him before he gets in. [02:12:29] Speaker E: Cool, cool, cool, cool. You guys watch as the car pulls up. [02:12:36] Speaker C: The driver, do we know the name of the company that he is supposed to be working with? He's working with the department of Defense. So there's, like, aerospace? [02:12:52] Speaker A: Yes. [02:12:53] Speaker E: Hold on. Let me. Let me check my notes. Mm hmm. Sorry, sorry, sorry. One sec. [02:13:18] Speaker C: I also have to check my notes because I keep forgetting what my fake name is. [02:13:31] Speaker E: It's called Harper International. Probably one of the most, like, plain ass names, but that's part of what allows it to kind of pun intended, fly under the radar. Oh, you guys do know that he is not listed as an owner or even an employee, but some of the people in his rent. [02:13:57] Speaker D: Yeah, the one person we identified as human as the CEO. [02:14:00] Speaker E: Yes. [02:14:05] Speaker C: We know the name of the merger company, because if I come from his company, he's going to. It stands out. [02:14:10] Speaker E: But I'm Arthur. This is all stuff you could have asked me before. [02:14:15] Speaker C: I didn't think about it until we were suddenly having to approach him while he was coming off the plane. [02:14:20] Speaker E: Well, you know what? Then I'm gonna say that y'all didn't think to necessarily get that deep into the weeds with it or Arthur didn't. [02:14:27] Speaker A: Yep, that's. [02:14:28] Speaker E: It is very fitting for Arthur to not necessarily memorize all of the extraneous details of the hunt. Mm hmm. All right, you all walk over. The driver gets out of the car. Kind of gives you guys a weird look as you're approaching, but goes to do what he needs to do. He hurries around to where the trunk is open and fully opens it. He pulls open the back door closest to the plane and then makes his way towards where you all see the door on the side of the plane opening and kind of fall. Like the top of it falls forward as it folds out into a set of stairs to allow people on board to begin to climb off. [02:15:25] Speaker A: Is the car still running or is it off? [02:15:28] Speaker E: It is running. [02:15:29] Speaker A: Do we want to swipe the keys? [02:15:32] Speaker E: Uh, you'd have to try and get close enough. [02:15:38] Speaker D: We can give it a, also remember. [02:15:39] Speaker E: That this is all, remember, like, I'm not gonna keep letting you guys stop and have five minute conversations. [02:15:44] Speaker A: No, you're good. I think it's, I think it's one of those things that Isabella is saying to Piper as we are walking is, do we want to swipe, try to swipe the keys? And, because it would, but, you know, if we don't think we can, that's, that's fine. [02:16:00] Speaker D: Yeah, no, I don't think it's worth it. [02:16:02] Speaker A: Yeah, no, let's continue going. [02:16:05] Speaker E: Okay. All right. The door falls open, the stairs are lowered, and you all watch as people begin to descend on the stairs. How do you guys want to time this? Do you want to arrive at like after the fourth or fifth person? You guys don't know exactly how many people are going to be on this flight. You only know what his typical retinue it looks like. You don't know how fast they're going to be getting off. You don't know if they're going to be dawdling at all. How do you want to time this? [02:16:49] Speaker D: I would say, as the fourth person is coming down. [02:16:54] Speaker E: Okay. [02:16:55] Speaker D: Because we know there will be at least, we're fairly certain there will be at least that many. [02:17:00] Speaker E: Okay, Rosanna, will you do me a favor and roll me four d ten? We'll let you guys roll to see how lucky you get. Oh, awesome, awesome, awesome, awesome. All right. The first person off of the plane is in a uniform. Suggests that they are probably one of the, like a steward. They're not dressed like a pilot. The second person off is the CEO that you all have seen listed on the company website and such. The third person off is a slightly, we're going to say she's like a mid twenties young woman who's carrying a briefcase and a messenger bag and is on her phone. She doesn't look like she's texting. She looks like one of those people you know what she looks like? She looks like a harried personal assistant. She's carrying too much luggage for just her. If all that's in there is like, a laptop and stuff. So she looks like she is keeping up with the CEO as quickly as she can manage. The fourth person is Mister Barrow. He steps off or is on the stairs as you guys are arriving. And all of them kind of look over at you guys. The CEO and the young woman kind of don't pay a whole heck of a lot of attention. They're, like, deep in a conversation. But Barrow stops, and his eyes immediately lock on. Piper. [02:19:16] Speaker D: I would like to roll sense. The unnatural. [02:19:20] Speaker E: Okay. [02:19:23] Speaker D: And this is gonna be weird, because I have a specialty, so I have extra dice specifically for vampires. That wouldn't apply to anybody else. [02:19:32] Speaker E: Okay? [02:19:32] Speaker D: So I'm going to roll them separately. [02:19:35] Speaker E: All right? So here is the base roll. [02:19:47] Speaker D: I don't like that much better. And then here is the extra two for vampires specifically, so that's four for general, five for vampire specific. [02:20:02] Speaker E: Okay. For sense. The unnatural, does it. Is it the more successes you have, the more information you get, or is it just the more people you sense? [02:20:12] Speaker D: It's a difficulty between three and five. Okay, it's either I do or I don't. Okay, okay, that's fine for non vampires. I don't know specifically what they are, just that they're supernatural. If they are a vampire. I know that they are a vampire. And I do have the upgrade that tells me exactly who is supernatural and who isn't. [02:20:35] Speaker C: The precision one? Yeah. [02:20:37] Speaker E: Okay, cool, cool, cool, cool, cool, cool. So there are five people in front of you guys in total right now. You guys have the driver, the CEO, the personal assistant, a steward, and Barrow. Barrow immediately procs as a vampire. That was never a question. The personal assistant does not ping at all. The driver pings as something. [02:21:06] Speaker D: All right. [02:21:08] Speaker E: The CEO pings as something. [02:21:13] Speaker D: Isabel pings as something. [02:21:15] Speaker E: Isabel also pings as something. And the steward pings as a vampire. Oh, fuck. Fuck. Okay, hold that fucking thought. I'm gonna get through describing the scene if it kills me. Barrow stops at the top of the stairs when he spots Piper. And there is a moment, Piper. Where, um, he studies you. And it's hard to tell if he recognizes you. Um, and then his smile. His. His lips curl into a broad, white toothed smile. Um, and with the, uh, the human having her back to him, you see his fangs extend. Ah, Miss Ward. I was wondering when we'd meet. It's been some time. Finally done running. [02:22:30] Speaker D: Done long enough. I don't use that name anymore. [02:22:33] Speaker E: Mmm. You can change your name, but you'll always be holly Ward. [02:22:41] Speaker D: Depends on who you ask. [02:22:46] Speaker E: And he is stepping down off of the stairs. [02:22:55] Speaker A: Who? [02:22:57] Speaker E: He kind of pauses at the bottom. The steward has looked at him and then turned to look at all of you. The CEO has kind of done the same. And he puts his hand on the shoulder of his assistant and kind of gestures her towards the car. [02:23:25] Speaker C: Well, I was gonna come here and throw up something about being a DoD liaison to the airspace, but it doesn't sound like that matters anymore. [02:23:33] Speaker E: No, it doesn't. [02:23:35] Speaker C: Martha just starts pointing at the guy we're here for. [02:23:40] Speaker D: Um, Piper will, like, point at the steward. That one, too. [02:23:48] Speaker C: Got it. [02:23:49] Speaker E: Miss Ward, you really ought to warn your friends that you're just going to get them killed. [02:23:58] Speaker D: We'll see. [02:24:01] Speaker E: How many have died so far because you couldn't face the consequences of frying into other people's lives. How's Melanie? [02:24:17] Speaker D: Last I checked, she was good. [02:24:20] Speaker E: Interesting. [02:24:25] Speaker D: So are we gonna dance around being pleasant with each other, or do what we both know we're here for? [02:24:35] Speaker E: He holds his hands out almost magnanimously. I would like everybody to make me wits and awareness checks, please. Rosanna, you can as well, but you're gonna be at a negative one to your dipole because of the distance. [02:25:04] Speaker C: Here's where we get into that great territory. [02:25:07] Speaker A: It's three for me. [02:25:12] Speaker B: Four for me. [02:25:16] Speaker E: Three for paper. Go ahead, go ahead. [02:25:20] Speaker C: Oh, the gray territory is whether or not desperation applies for this role. If it's in opposition to them, I'll go ahead and hit. [02:25:28] Speaker E: No, this is. It's a passive role. It's just to see if you notice something. Okay. Anybody who has a four notices that both of the gentlemen who pinged, as some things, have guns on them. And that barrow, when he does that kind of wide, sweeping, magnanimous gesture, as if to say, after you. Something small slid into one of his palms, it's hard to tell exactly what it is in the shadows. [02:26:25] Speaker B: I assume that we have no direct ways of communicating with one another. [02:26:30] Speaker E: You guys did not set anything up, so. No. [02:26:35] Speaker B: Okay. [02:26:36] Speaker C: Plus airplane engine ramping down, noise. [02:26:41] Speaker A: I mean, if things look like they're about to pop off. [02:26:45] Speaker E: Oh, yeah. [02:26:46] Speaker A: Oh, yeah. I want to start by tossing one of the tear gas, specifically, probably at, like, the. Not Barrow, but like the others. [02:26:58] Speaker E: Okay. You basically have two directions that you could toss it. You could toss it towards the plane, which is where Barrow, the steward and the CEO are. Or you could toss it towards the car where the driver is. The driver isn't quite up on top of them. He's kind of off to the side. If you try, you could toss it in the middle, which might hit multiple people, but it also stands a larger chance of missing. [02:27:28] Speaker A: I will toss this first one at the CEO and stuff. [02:27:35] Speaker E: Okay, make me a. Let's make it. Hold on. Look at my reference sheet, because throwing is weird. Dex plus athletics, please. [02:28:13] Speaker A: I'm not going to go for desperation just yet. I don't want to risk going overreaching or falling into despair this early. [02:28:21] Speaker E: Okay. [02:28:24] Speaker A: Gonna spend a willpower, though. [02:28:26] Speaker E: Okay. [02:28:30] Speaker A: That is three successes. [02:28:32] Speaker E: Okay. You managed to land it relatively close. A cloud begins to fill the air. The CEO starts to cough. The secretary, who was kind of walking away, is just close enough that she gets caught and she starts coughing. Unfortunately, that means that she's disoriented and is not just going to be lined to get away, because she's not, she can't see clearly. She's coughing, she can't breathe well. So she's not necessarily directly in the line of fire, but close enough that any stray bullets and things could be a problem where she is concerned. The driver is out of range enough that it does not bother him and he keeps a wary distance. All right, everybody here, with the exception of Arthur, is at range or is a ranged combatant. Yes. [02:29:32] Speaker A: Yeah. [02:29:32] Speaker E: Arthur, are you going to be closing the distance or are you hanging back so that they can benefit from your wards? [02:29:40] Speaker C: I think that for now, I'm going to hang back and prepare for something, because I'm realizing now that if I rush forward, I'm gonna have to deal with all this alone, and they're not gonna necessarily be able to shoot if I get on their way. First time in a long time that Arthur has thought about the fact that he might become a liability. [02:30:02] Speaker E: Hey, character. [02:30:06] Speaker C: So what he's going to do instead? He's gonna stay where he is right now. Maybe squat down or something. Something, because he's very tall, but he's gonna toss the other grenade at the driver. [02:30:15] Speaker E: Okay, give me Dex and athletics, and then I'm gonna go around the table and have everybody who is at ranged make their first things. The bad guys will also be going at about the same time. And for the sake of speed, I kind of pre rolled a bunch of stuff. I have. I have a long list of pre rolled actions for them so that I don't have to waste a bunch of time during session, so. [02:30:49] Speaker C: Okay, well, I rerolled the, tried to reroll the failures on that one. But it didn't. It didn't matter. It didn't do anything. Just ate up one of my willpower. [02:30:56] Speaker E: Okay, two successes, Arthur. You toss it, and it seems like it's gonna. It's going to be dead on where you want it to be, but it bounces weird, and all you end up doing is hitting the poor secretary again. [02:31:14] Speaker C: Is at least creating some kind of smoke barrier to make it harder for the driver. [02:31:18] Speaker E: It may provide a little bit of, like, just haze for him to have to compete with, but it doesn't seem like it is impacting his ability to breathe or anything. [02:31:29] Speaker C: That's fine. [02:31:30] Speaker E: Maybe you'll get lucky in the windle shift or something, but for right now, it's mostly just making the poor secretary miserable. [02:31:38] Speaker C: That's what she gets. Her being followed with vampires. [02:31:44] Speaker E: That is a typically Arthur response. [02:31:48] Speaker A: It is. [02:31:49] Speaker E: Okay, you know what, Rosanna, you've been incredibly patient and done nothing so far, so we're gonna let you take your first shot. I will give you. Because they do not know that you are there. I will give you two extra dice. Cool. [02:32:10] Speaker C: A stealth. [02:32:12] Speaker E: I love the excitement on legacy's face. When legacy gets bonuses, it gets to be a badass. Don't forget to tell me if you are using desperation or anything. [02:32:23] Speaker B: I'll be using desperation, so. [02:32:37] Speaker E: Okay. [02:32:41] Speaker B: Let me just make sure I have all my dice. [02:32:47] Speaker E: Like, it seems like I'm gay. I don't do math. [02:32:54] Speaker B: Okay, cool. Yeah. All right. That's. I just wanted to make sure. Sorry, I'm bad at math. I'm gay. [02:33:00] Speaker E: I told you. [02:33:04] Speaker B: I forgot to put my last three dicer desperation. [02:33:07] Speaker E: All right? And that's all. [02:33:12] Speaker B: I would also like to spend a willpower to reroll those dice if I can. [02:33:19] Speaker E: Hold on. So three year desperation. None of them are ones. Okay. I will allow you to roll three of them. Yes, reroll three of them. [02:33:30] Speaker B: All right, I'm gonna take out. I wanna aim it at because I saw piper pointing to vampire at the top and then at the. At the stewardess. So I'm gonna assume that that means that those are our two primary targets. I'm gonna aim at the stewardess and. [02:33:48] Speaker E: Okay, and that's all ag, correct? [02:33:51] Speaker B: Yes, ma'am. [02:33:53] Speaker E: Excellent. Let me pull up her sheet. Gonna tip my hand a little bit and reveal some behind the scenes knowledge. The steward was not originally supposed to be a vampire. But then legacy up to the danger. [02:34:13] Speaker C: Ha ha. [02:34:15] Speaker E: Storyteller legacy is mopping up her own fuck up. Basically. [02:34:20] Speaker B: Got you kids. Don't worry. [02:34:23] Speaker D: Gotcha. [02:34:23] Speaker C: Thanks. Reggae. [02:34:29] Speaker E: Don'T worry, guys. I'll take out the ravnos. Cool. [02:34:35] Speaker A: And it would make most sense for those to be a ravenous. They're traveling all the time. [02:34:40] Speaker B: I don't know if she's actually a ravenous, so I'm just making assumptions. [02:34:43] Speaker A: It makes the most sense. [02:34:45] Speaker E: Right. Okay. [02:34:48] Speaker A: You're never in one place for more than a day. [02:34:57] Speaker B: I mean, Rosanna. And characters don't know shit, but you know. [02:35:00] Speaker C: Right? [02:35:04] Speaker E: All right, Rosanna, you see this arrow? Um, hit this woman. Um. And there's a moment of pain and horror that kind of, uh. Not woman, man. That kind of crosses his face. I'm sorry. I keep thinking about the poor. The poor secretary that you put after. [02:35:31] Speaker B: Obviously, that's the next target. They keep throwing shit at her. [02:35:41] Speaker E: You see agony cross his face, and then there's kind of like a gritting of teeth. And as he grits his teeth and his lips pull back, and you can see his fangs. You watch as your arrow embeds in his chest. And vines almost look like they start to, like, crawl out and along his skin, like, you see them almost burst out of this wound that you've created. And as he grits his teeth, you watch as the vines almost get forcibly pushed back towards the wound that you've made. And your arrow begins to dissipate. You could tell he's definitely still very hurt, but he managed to do something that lessened the damage that you did to him. [02:36:43] Speaker B: I have a question. [02:36:44] Speaker E: Yes? [02:36:45] Speaker B: Last time, I was able to hold the narrow in place and make it do weird shit. Am I able to do that again? [02:36:50] Speaker E: No. [02:36:54] Speaker B: Okay. [02:36:55] Speaker E: Not at the moment, anyway. There were special circumstances around the last time you did weird shit with your arrow. Last time. Namely that Arthur was almost dying and Rosanna was desperate. And you're not desperate yet. We'll see how things go. [02:37:12] Speaker B: You're not desperate yet. [02:37:20] Speaker E: I didn't say you won't be. All right. Isabelle? [02:37:25] Speaker A: Yes. [02:37:27] Speaker E: What are you gonna do? Oh, no, you've already done your throw thing. We're not done with that round yet. I'm sorry. My bad. Piper, what are you gonna do? Does this happen simultaneously with Rosanna's arrow? [02:37:41] Speaker C: Cool. [02:37:41] Speaker D: Then she would start shooting at Barrow. Or have the drone start shooting. [02:37:47] Speaker E: Okay. [02:37:47] Speaker A: Oh. Spider pot. [02:37:49] Speaker E: Spider drone. Spider drone. [02:37:52] Speaker D: We've got this many dice for that. Better than I expected. [02:38:00] Speaker E: That's not bad. All right. Um. Hmm. Piper, do you have any occult? [02:38:12] Speaker D: No. [02:38:14] Speaker E: Awesome. Cool. You're gonna see some weird shit, but you're not gonna have any fucking clue what's happening? Isabel, could you please roll me into Nicole? [02:38:23] Speaker A: Yes. And I imagine my kindred spec will give me stuff here. [02:38:27] Speaker E: Absolutely. [02:38:28] Speaker C: Is this a visual thing that maybe. Do I need a role? Essentially is the. [02:38:31] Speaker E: You can. Yeah, you. Anybody with a cult can roll. Rosanna will be at negative two dice because of the distance. [02:38:44] Speaker A: Five, success with the critical. [02:38:45] Speaker E: Okay. [02:38:51] Speaker C: I only got three. [02:38:52] Speaker E: Yeah, you're not gonna under. You're not gonna be able to understand what's happening. Arthur's brain is gonna go more weird. Fucking vampire shit. [02:39:01] Speaker C: Rich, it got it. [02:39:05] Speaker E: Isabelle, you watch as, again, bullets embed themselves into Barrow's body. I'm gonna say that it's like a burst of bullets for the sake of flavor. Two of them hit Barrow and bounce off. Not like a full ricochet, but they hit him, and then they immediately fall to the ground, and they look crushed, like somebody put a finger on. On either end of them and, like, squeezed until they were flat. The third one embeds in his chest, and there is another moment of that kind of grimace of pain. And then again, you watch as the bullet gets. It doesn't get dislodged from his body, but it's like the. The skin closes up slightly around it. And you watch as his physical form seems. It almost looks like he somehow becomes just a little bit healthier despite the damage that's been done to his chest. [02:40:23] Speaker D: Also, as a note, Piper is, like, staring into his eyes this entire, like. [02:40:28] Speaker E: Unpiper through the glasses. You don't actually have eye contact if you've got sunglasses on. Piper. From her side. Yes, from her side. You are staring very particularly at him. But, Isabel, you watch as. As he almost seems to be a little bit more hale and healthy, and some of his. And the muscles in his shoulders and upper arms seem to swell just a. [02:40:56] Speaker D: Little bit. [02:41:04] Speaker E: With that critical. You are pretty. You don't know what the power is called, but you are pretty sure that this is a. This is a power that some of the vampire clans have that specifically makes them physically tougher and able to take a lot more damage than others. Okay, your turn. Or their turn. [02:41:37] Speaker A: Yep. [02:41:42] Speaker E: All right. Barrow takes all of this damage, and in return, Piper, you watch as his arm lifts, and he, like, backhand flicks something at you really, really quickly, and it flies far faster than you ever could have expected. Would you like to attempt to dodge? [02:42:23] Speaker D: I will try. [02:42:26] Speaker E: Okay. [02:42:31] Speaker D: Don't have many dice for this. [02:42:36] Speaker E: That's Dex and athletics. Yep. [02:42:41] Speaker D: One. [02:42:42] Speaker E: Okay, you are going to take. Oh, my goodness. As I have forgotten what type of damage blades do? [02:42:56] Speaker D: Explicitly aggravated. [02:42:58] Speaker E: Awesome. A knife embeds itself in your shoulder. You realize rapidly that you are very, very lucky. You don't have a ton of medical knowledge, but it's low enough on your shoulder that you're pretty sure that, like, an inch or two lower, it might have hit a little. [02:43:18] Speaker B: Actually, blades do superficial, like small blades do. Only superficial. [02:43:24] Speaker D: Any edge weapon, to mortals, it does aggravate it. [02:43:29] Speaker E: Yeah, I was pretty sure, but, yeah. [02:43:33] Speaker D: I'm a regular person. [02:43:34] Speaker A: We're just. [02:43:35] Speaker C: We're just people. [02:43:36] Speaker E: Well, we're just vampires. Legacy. [02:43:38] Speaker C: Yeah, we totally forgot to put on normal. [02:43:45] Speaker E: Well, the disadvantage that Kevlar doesn't do much to stop a blade. Um, so, uh, yeah, uh, you take three levels of. Of ag as this thing embeds itself, and you can feel the blade go far enough through that it. You're pretty sure it is poking out of the back of your shoulder. [02:44:09] Speaker A: This one goes. Don't pull it out. [02:44:12] Speaker E: The two ghouls, um, I have rolled their stamina, are currently struggling to be able to breathe. I subtracted from their roles that they took earlier, and the bullets go wide. They attempt to shoot at you guys, but nobody has to dodge you. Just sort of flinch in around each other and give them enough clearance, and the bullets go wide factor. Rosanna, you're pretty sure one of them ricochets off the asphalt near you. You're like, oh, fuck. That could have hit the generator or the power box that you're behind. The second vampire does not seem affected by the tear gas. Probably because he doesn't have working tear ducts. [02:45:07] Speaker A: Or lungs. [02:45:08] Speaker E: Or lungs. And he, let's see. Does not. I don't think he. I didn't say it. A gun on him? Um, no, just. [02:45:23] Speaker A: That's fine. Still fuck us up anyways. [02:45:25] Speaker E: Doesn't have a gun. He's the steward. Yeah, it'd be weird for him to. [02:45:31] Speaker C: Walk it up and down the aisles in the plane with a gun, but, you know. [02:45:33] Speaker E: No, he doesn't. I'm saying he doesn't have one. He glances around him in a moment of panic and then pulls, yanks the gun from the hands of one of the ghouls. I'm going to give him a negative to his attempt to hit you because it takes him a moment to draw said gun from the ghoul. He's also already at negatives because he took damage. Arthur, roll me a d ten. Isabelle. Even Zeradz odds. Okay. Isabelle. He pulls out this gun and he fires. And it's a little blind. You take a single level of ag as the bullet grazes your side. Okay. They rapidly realize that none of them can close on you guys to get close enough. So you see the. Especially the two that kind of have their shit together still. And the driver, who also hasn't had a chance to do anything because he's dealing with a cloud of whatever. You see them all start to spread to the sides to not all be in the same space. The secretary gets knocked over because she manages to wander directly into Barrow's path and he just casually shoves her out of the way. No, you know what? He's not going to casually shove her out of the way. He's going to grab her ass by. By the back of her shirt and start dragging her along with him as he moves. He's not holding her in front of him, but unfortunately, you guys managing to hit her with the tear gases provided him with a ready supply of blood. Okay. [02:48:00] Speaker A: Unfortunate. [02:48:04] Speaker E: All right, boys and girls, next round. Arthur, are you remaining where you are? [02:48:13] Speaker C: I think maybe for one more round. So Arthur's gonna throw his hand up, and he's just gonna be reciting the latin phrases that go along with his thing and holding his ward. [02:48:22] Speaker E: Okay, Rosanna, etcetera. [02:48:30] Speaker B: Where's my friend? My buddy. [02:48:38] Speaker E: The steward has. Has. Has spread off to the side. He's still within range of your bow. He is slightly harder to target because he has stepped more into a shadowed area and away from all the lights around the planes in the. Of the plane in the car. Okay. You can still see him, though. Okay, you're gonna be at a negative two to hit him. [02:49:09] Speaker B: All right. Am I still hidden? [02:49:14] Speaker E: No. [02:49:14] Speaker B: Okay. No. [02:49:17] Speaker E: Yeah. Sorry, babe, you fired an arrow. They know where you are. Oh, no. [02:49:23] Speaker B: Whatever will I do? Seven critical. [02:49:32] Speaker E: Not bad. All right, again, you bury an arrow in the steward's side. His whole body jerks and spasms, and you watch as something very similar to what happened with the last one happens. The arrow buries inside of him and dissipates. And as those vines attempt to grow out of him to kind of, like, wrap around and consume him, they kind of get pushed back, and the damage seems to be less than you would expect. However, as this happens, you watch as his knees buckle and he falls and lands on his stomach. His skin goes gray and his body goes still. You manage to knock him perfectly. You did the perfect amount of damage to put this bitch into torpor without actually fully killing him. Excellent. That is the most wild set of circumstances I've ever seen. I really thought you were just gonna fucking merc him, but you managed to be, like, one level too low to just outright slaughter him. All right. [02:51:09] Speaker A: Isabel, seeing that and seeing this person go down, um, so I can give Gozer complex commands. [02:51:20] Speaker E: Uh huh. [02:51:22] Speaker A: One of my ideas is to try and get him to get the secretary away from Barlow. [02:51:32] Speaker E: Barrow. Yeah. [02:51:33] Speaker A: Barrow. [02:51:36] Speaker E: Hmm. Okay. [02:51:40] Speaker A: Hmm. [02:51:42] Speaker E: I will tell you that you've worked with Gozer enough to know that he is willing to try to do anything you tell him to do, but there is a chance, because she is just a human, that he will end up doing more damage than good. [02:51:55] Speaker A: Yeah, no, that was Isabelle's idea. So she's just gonna have him attack Barrow and follow up and follow that up with several gunshots. Okay. The thing they've done before of he's gonna try to attempt to pin him, and then. So it'll make it harder for Barrow to dodge. [02:52:18] Speaker E: Okay, roll for Gozer first. [02:52:23] Speaker A: I believe that's my charisma. Plus, animal can. [02:52:26] Speaker E: Yep. Correct. [02:52:31] Speaker A: We're still at three. Desperation. [02:52:35] Speaker E: Yes. This is going entirely too well for you guys for me to up your desperation. [02:52:41] Speaker A: Oh, you're good. I got six, so I don't. Don't want to use desperation on this just yet. That is five successes, so it will be successful. I successfully give him the command. [02:53:01] Speaker E: Okay. Now, I believe he has a physical pull that you roll to attempt to pin Barrow. [02:53:09] Speaker A: Yes. Crab. I should have had the. You said it's the wolf from the. [02:53:14] Speaker E: Corbett, because he has been well trained. [02:53:20] Speaker D: And is, in fact, not just a regular dog. [02:53:23] Speaker E: Yeah, he's a wolf. Anyway, when he first came. Came onto the show, we had him using regular dog stats because he hadn't been fully trained. But the agreement was that as basically as he, quote unquote, leveled up with his trainers. [02:53:46] Speaker A: Okay, where is it? [02:53:51] Speaker C: The wolf stats wolf. [02:53:53] Speaker E: Yes. I found six. [02:53:55] Speaker A: Yep. Six. Six dice. [02:53:57] Speaker E: Yep. [02:54:10] Speaker A: That is four successes. [02:54:13] Speaker E: Okay, let me see. Are you basically getting him to try and grapple, or are you trying to get him to do damage? [02:54:21] Speaker A: Mostly grapple. [02:54:23] Speaker E: Okay. [02:54:25] Speaker A: Just so it makes it harder for Barrow to dodge and I can put bullets in him. [02:54:32] Speaker E: Well, I did not pre roll this, so. Arthur, not ready for this. Sorry, Scott. Yo, will you please roll me eight dice? Jesus. [02:54:52] Speaker C: Is this a die pool for a thing? [02:54:55] Speaker E: This is the die pool for the vampire who is trying to get out of being grappled by Gozer. Yeah. Gozer runs at him and jumps at his chest and tries to, like, get a mouthful of his suit jacket. Unfortunately, Barrow is very fast, at least in terms of like, human. Human fast. And manages to reach out and literally, like, grab Gozer by the. By the scruff of. Or not by the scruff, but, like. But like, the back of that doggy flak jacket that you put on him and literally stops him in midair. And Gozer thrashes and falls to the ground. He's fine. He's not hurt, but he's also not grappling Barrow. However, that does make it harder for Barrow to be able to do something like Dodge, which is what you were going to do. [02:55:57] Speaker C: It's kind of like this at some point. [02:56:01] Speaker E: So roll me your. I think it's composure plus firearms. Firearms. [02:56:06] Speaker A: And then I've got that plus two from the gear. [02:56:09] Speaker D: Correct. [02:56:11] Speaker A: And I will use my desperation for this. [02:56:14] Speaker E: All right. [02:56:20] Speaker A: So. And then we're. Desperation three. Ah. That's such a horrible role. [02:56:34] Speaker D: It is a really bad roll. [02:56:36] Speaker A: Why. Why do you all steal the good. Good dice rolls? [02:56:41] Speaker E: I overreach your disaster. [02:56:44] Speaker A: I'm going to. There's no point in overreaching for this. I'm going into despair. [02:56:50] Speaker E: Okay. You attempt to take a shot, but you were so concerned about potentially hitting the girl or hitting Gozer that your shot goes wide. [02:57:01] Speaker C: Maybe even a brief moment as you were going to shoot, and he grabbed Gozer that you're like. And, like, that's what froze. [02:57:11] Speaker E: Piper. [02:57:13] Speaker D: Can we make the robot go tackle Barrow? [02:57:16] Speaker E: You can try. You did just watch Barrow catch a dog out of midair. [02:57:24] Speaker D: Yes, but now he doesn't have any free hands. [02:57:27] Speaker E: No, he dropped Gozer. I mean, he dropped Gozer, but there's only so many actions he gets in a round. I'm not gonna. [02:57:33] Speaker A: It's fair. [02:57:35] Speaker E: He's not a Zbitzi. He doesn't get, like, a million fucking arms. So. [02:57:41] Speaker D: Brawl and athletics are our skills that this robot has. Technically. [02:57:45] Speaker E: That's wild. [02:57:47] Speaker A: I just keep imagining one of those fucking Harvard robots. [02:57:51] Speaker B: Oh, my God. [02:57:52] Speaker C: Yeah, the Boston dynamic robots like that is five successes. [02:57:56] Speaker E: I'm telling you. I still picture the turrets from fucking portal. [02:58:00] Speaker A: Yeah, I can see that. Is anyone there? [02:58:04] Speaker E: All right, let's see if he can just stay on his feet or if he gets knocked over. Scott, I'm gonna make you roll again. [02:58:15] Speaker C: Just gonna steal all my good rolls. That's fine. [02:58:19] Speaker E: Roll me six dice for this. I will give him a negative two penalty because he's also dealing with Gozer and a girl. All right, so here's what happens. This robot that comes up to people's waist when it's, like, standing at full height, scurries across the tarbeck in what is probably one of the most disturbing things you've ever seen a robot do, because it looks like a giant fuck off spider. And at the last moment, its legs bend slightly outward, and then it's like a fucking spring action. It just pops up and at barrel. And I'm not gonna say that it can grapple him. However, it does hit him square in the fucking chest and knock him over, which is both hilarious, but also a little bit unfortunate because he takes the secretary with him. Thankfully, Gozer was already on the ground, so Gozer is fine. Gozer is barking and growling and snapping at this. At this man. Um, as he is on the ground, he is cursing in what you can only assume is probably greek. Um. [02:59:46] Speaker D: Mind you, this. This fucking giant fuck off spider also has a gun attached to it. [02:59:51] Speaker E: Yep. [02:59:52] Speaker D: Which is. Which I imagine is now, like, right. [02:59:55] Speaker E: In this guy's face, kind of. I will say it is still a fucking robot. Oh, yeah. There is a limit on how flexible it can be with things like that. So the gun is very close to him, but it is not necessarily leveled on his face, because it is kind of sitting on top of him at the moment. And the gun is built to be pointed forward or at least parallel to the ground. Okay, that is so fucking funny. We're gonna start with the others first. There has been a little bit of time for some of the tear gas to dissipate, so the guys are going to be at less of a disadvantage than they were. So we've got two. Two people taking shots at. We'll have one shoot at isabel, and one will shoot at Arthur because I rolled a single d ten to figure out who was going to get hit by who or if they were both going to hit one person. [03:01:17] Speaker A: Isabelle threw tear gas at the checks out. We're the ones that threw the tear gas. [03:01:22] Speaker E: So, yeah, one of them is going to shoot at Isabelle because he recognized that, you know, and the other one is shooting at Arthur because while Arthur. Yes. Through tear gas, he has been smart enough to figure out that something about what Arthur is saying is having a weird effect because he can't get any closer. All right, the first one is going to shoot. Good lord. Um, the first one is going to shoot at isabelle. That is three successes. Um, isabelle, you can attempt to dodge, if you would like. [03:02:04] Speaker A: Sure. Yeah, why not? [03:02:06] Speaker E: So I needed x plus athletics. [03:02:09] Speaker D: I believe you get a minus two because he's using gun. [03:02:12] Speaker E: Correct. [03:02:18] Speaker A: That is a. I'm gonna reroll failures one. [03:02:27] Speaker E: All right. And I rolled three. So you take two levels of aggressive. [03:02:32] Speaker A: That will put me at half my health tracker. Fine. [03:02:37] Speaker E: It's fine so far. You guys are winning. For what it's worth. People are getting fucked up, but you're winning, Arthur. Jude, man is rolling. That is two successes if you would like to dodge. It is Dex plus athletics. But you were at a minus two because it's a gun. One level of ag damage, Arthur, does it? [03:03:13] Speaker C: Oh, I guess it's still one. Nevermind. Halved and rounded up. So, yeah, it's the one. [03:03:23] Speaker E: All right. [03:03:27] Speaker A: Ow. [03:03:27] Speaker E: Uh, Barrow's turn. Piper. Yeah? Does your robot have. Have health levels? [03:03:37] Speaker D: It sure does. [03:03:38] Speaker E: Excellent. Cause Barrow's pissed. Understandably so he got tackled by a robot. He's not thrilled. Um. [03:03:53] Speaker A: Hey, maybe this is how we turn tech bros against AI. [03:03:56] Speaker B: No, no, it's a robot with a gun. [03:04:01] Speaker D: Yeah, it's infinitely worse. [03:04:06] Speaker E: Technocracy would like a word. [03:04:09] Speaker B: Um, this is gonna be our next enemy. [03:04:13] Speaker E: I'm gonna make you guys fight the technocracy. I am actually going to roll for this. Oof. Well, I'll be burning a point of his willpower for this. [03:04:49] Speaker B: I would love it if this guy, who's, like, 150 years old, couldn't get the fucking robot off of him. [03:04:55] Speaker E: The robot is very heavy. So effectively what ends up happening is Barrow lets go of the girl, grabs the robot, and sort of, like, rolls and pushes at the same time to force the robot off of him, but is also trying to do as much damage as he can. I am going to say, because it is a robot and because Piper has already taken a turn, Piper does not get to command it. [03:05:23] Speaker D: To try and dodge it would have one die to dodge. [03:05:28] Speaker E: Okay, Piper, why do people keep dming me? [03:05:35] Speaker C: Does me? [03:05:37] Speaker E: Yes, Scott. Ghouls are supernatural. That's why these other people pinged, but are not vampires. [03:05:43] Speaker D: Got it. [03:05:44] Speaker E: Thank you. [03:05:44] Speaker A: Does this mean I can't approach Arthur? We'll deal with that later. [03:05:48] Speaker E: It means that you can get closer to Arthur. [03:05:51] Speaker C: Yeah, I would have done it when you were in proximity to me. [03:05:55] Speaker E: So as long as you activated it while you were close to him. So you're fine. For now. Just don't try to get closer to him. Same with Rosanna. So, Piper, your robot takes three. I believe. [03:06:24] Speaker D: It treats all damage as. [03:06:31] Speaker E: It treats all damage as what? [03:06:33] Speaker D: It treats all damage as superficial. [03:06:35] Speaker E: Okay, then it takes three superficial damage. [03:06:39] Speaker D: So it'd be halved. [03:06:39] Speaker E: Two. Okay. Um, the other vampire is torpord. The two ghouls have gone. We're on the third round. Arthur, are you going to remain where you are or are you pissed off because you got shot? [03:07:04] Speaker C: I'm pissed off that I got shot. And it looks like everyone is sort of dog piling on our guy. So it's not clear whether or not Arthur's gonna be able to be effective in that particular situation. [03:07:19] Speaker E: I just want to point out that people have literally dogpiled on him because there's a dog. [03:07:25] Speaker C: Yeah, but Gozer looks fine. It's not like Arthur has a particular super connection to Gozer at all. I think what he's going to do, though, is Arthur judging the situation, having just got shut, is going to rush at the CEO and just kind of Superman punch him into the stairs or whatever to get him to stop shooting at him. [03:07:47] Speaker E: Okay. [03:07:50] Speaker C: Because that, you know, they could all be working on Barrow. But if the ghouls are just going to keep shooting, eventually someone's going to get killed, and that needs to. [03:07:59] Speaker E: I don't disagree. [03:08:06] Speaker C: All right. [03:08:08] Speaker E: Unfortunately, that is going to mean that to some degree, you have withdrawn protection from your friends. [03:08:14] Speaker C: Yes, I know that. But us standing here getting shot at is also not helping. So why is the dice spot not engaging? [03:08:42] Speaker D: We killed Ron. [03:08:43] Speaker E: That's very weird. [03:08:44] Speaker C: Yeah, you just stopped engaging. [03:08:45] Speaker E: You killed it. [03:08:46] Speaker B: We killed Rod. [03:08:51] Speaker E: Use the realm of darkness 20th and just roll three or roll whatever your extra dice if you're going to. Or if you're gonna use desperation. [03:09:04] Speaker C: Okay. I'm trying different codes to trigger any of the dice rollers, and they're not working. [03:09:10] Speaker D: Try jumping to a different channel and jumping back. [03:09:13] Speaker A: Yeah, they're popping up for me. [03:09:14] Speaker D: Discord occasionally. [03:09:15] Speaker B: Yeah, they're popping up for me. [03:09:17] Speaker E: They're not popping up for me. No? [03:09:24] Speaker C: Nothing. [03:09:24] Speaker E: Nope. I'm just gonna. Oh, whoa. [03:09:29] Speaker B: Popping up for me. [03:09:30] Speaker E: Oh, I got one from legacy. Okay. [03:09:33] Speaker C: Yeah. [03:09:34] Speaker A: Um, sorry to. [03:09:36] Speaker B: Excited. [03:09:37] Speaker A: Okay. [03:09:38] Speaker E: Uh, Scott, do you have a dice with you? [03:09:43] Speaker C: I actually. Me. Well, no, I don't think I have the hunter dice, though. [03:09:48] Speaker D: We can have one of the people that has access to the bottom. [03:09:51] Speaker B: Yeah. How many dice do you want to roll? [03:09:55] Speaker C: All right, well, him being a ghoul and not a vampire does change up my numbers, so it will be eleven plus the desperation, which is three, so 14. [03:10:10] Speaker E: Incorrect. [03:10:14] Speaker B: There you go. [03:10:15] Speaker E: Bubbly. Shit. [03:10:19] Speaker C: Hey, BP. That was eleven successes. [03:10:22] Speaker E: Yeah, no shit, Sherlock. [03:10:24] Speaker C: I just want to say it, you know. [03:10:30] Speaker E: Even if he rolls, like, he'd have to crit on every fucking die that he has to to negate some of this damage, so. Yeah, well, because he could. He could dodge to try and cut back on it, but even if he rolled crits on every single die he has, it wouldn't be enough. So you haul off and you cole cock him in the jaw. You're pretty sure you see teeth go flying and then his eyes roll back at his head and he's just. You're not even sure if he's alive. [03:11:07] Speaker C: Yeah, I feel like this was, like I said, just roll it up and just slam. And he just kind of went down. [03:11:12] Speaker E: Yup. Then I'm going to turn that bracer around. That bracer around your wrist gets real, real bright the closer you get. And you pull it back and then slam it into his face. Teeth go flying, his eyes roll back in his head and he just goes limp. [03:11:31] Speaker C: Exactly what I wanted. [03:11:33] Speaker B: You're welcome. [03:11:36] Speaker E: Rosanna. [03:11:38] Speaker B: That's not gonna happen twice in a row for me, unfortunately. So I see that he is dog piled. [03:11:55] Speaker E: Well, he's up on his feet, but he is surrounded by a bunch of dogs, a slightly broken robot. [03:12:03] Speaker B: Okay. [03:12:03] Speaker E: And the poor secretary, she screams. Poor woman who is screaming bloody murder now, by the way. [03:12:11] Speaker B: Oh, great. [03:12:12] Speaker D: Understandable. [03:12:13] Speaker B: Awesome, awesome, awesome, awesome. [03:12:20] Speaker E: Hmm. While legacy is making a decision, I would like everybody else to roll me. What's an awareness? All right, like I said, you could roll me here with some awareness as well if you would like. [03:12:36] Speaker C: Came up. [03:12:37] Speaker D: I rolled four ones. [03:12:41] Speaker E: Piper has tunnel vision. [03:12:43] Speaker A: Six successes critical. [03:12:47] Speaker B: Three successes. [03:12:48] Speaker C: Had one. Arthur's too busy punching a CEO in the face. [03:12:51] Speaker D: I also got one. [03:12:54] Speaker E: Arthur and Piper have no idea what else is going on. They're both hyper focused. Rosanna, you can actually look over your shoulder and a little bit see this, Isabel, you can hear motorcycles and the occasional pop of a gun on the other side of the building. Rosanna, when you look over, you could see the boys are engaged with somebody. It's hard to tell from where you are because of the angle the motorcycles are moving. It doesn't seem like a desperate fight. It seems like they are effectively, they're engaged with somebody, but it's not up close and personal yet. Sure. [03:13:47] Speaker B: All right, well, then, while he's punching out ghouls and stuff, I'm gonna focus my attention on getting Andrew Barley, whatever his name is, that I'm gonna try to focus my energy on pinging as much as I can. [03:14:14] Speaker E: Okay. Jesus Christ. Nick seemed critical. [03:14:45] Speaker B: Hold on, hold on, hold on. Oh, wait. I only have two dice that I can reroll. Never mind. I'm not gonna. Not gonna actually. Oh, wait, that's a double crit that I got too. [03:14:55] Speaker E: Yeah. [03:14:56] Speaker B: Oh, gross. [03:14:57] Speaker C: Dang, girl. Just making Arthur look bad over here. [03:15:01] Speaker E: Twelve dice with 16 successes, and it's incredible. [03:15:05] Speaker D: 15 bet, 15 days. [03:15:08] Speaker E: All right, pull. Twelve desperation, three. I mean, I didn't read the whole thing. I just saw. [03:15:13] Speaker B: That's a double crate non desperation day. [03:15:18] Speaker E: So fucking amazing. Okay. [03:15:31] Speaker B: Hey, he's a very distracted man. Okay. [03:15:38] Speaker E: Let me make some rolls. See? Okay. Convert some of that, engage some of that, gain some more health levels. [03:15:56] Speaker D: Cross from pain. It's such a dupe of power. [03:15:58] Speaker B: I know. Hey, I still did a shit ton of damage to him, no matter what. [03:16:06] Speaker E: You really fucking did. Yeah. The only reason why he is not 100% down right now is because he also has the thing that converts ag to superficial, and the thing that lets him just shrug off certain stuff. Shrug off a certain level, a certain number of superficial levels. Just don't him. Yeah, and even with a fucking dodge roll still, all right, he looks fucked up in a pretty major way by that, Piper. You can feel it. Like, you can tell in your gut of guts that you are on the verge of putting this monster down, at the very least knocking him into torpor, where he will be easy to kill, if not just outright fucking killing him. I'm gonna have you roll with whatever it is that you want to use. Given the circumstances and how well this is going for you and your friends, even with the ones you. Even with those of you who have gotten hurt, it's not so severe that anybody's in danger of losing their life. I'm going to give you two extra dice. [03:17:32] Speaker A: All right? [03:17:37] Speaker D: Give me nine dice for this. I'm going to reroll those two. Okay, well, God said no. Uh, seven. [03:17:53] Speaker E: Hey, hold on one moment, please. I'm mathing you. Good. [03:18:06] Speaker B: She's also gay. That can't do math. That's okay. [03:18:09] Speaker E: No, it's just that fucking fortitude makes things complicated. Um, there's like a. Like a five step process to figuring out how much damage he actually takes. [03:18:23] Speaker C: Click. [03:18:25] Speaker E: Piper? [03:18:26] Speaker D: Yeah. [03:18:27] Speaker E: How do you want to do this? [03:18:32] Speaker D: Piper just starts walking towards him, knife still in her arm, like, still in her shoulder. Um, and she doesn't even get all the way to him. Um, before she takes the little controller she has and just unloads into him, with the drone. [03:18:57] Speaker E: Um, you get close enough to. It's not. It's not truly eye contact because you have sunglasses on, but he looks up at you like he is meeting your eyes, and his mouth opens and he bares his fangs and he starts to growl something. And before the words can even leave him, your drone unloads a full clip into his face. Now, unfortunately, it's not enough to outright kill him. It does, however, make him go deathly still and deathly pale. The, uh, secretary is, again, screaming bloody fucking murder. She's terrified. She looks. She is looking at you in abject horror and shock. She has dropped all of the things that she was carrying. She is sobbing hysterically. The one ghoul that is left dives into the car. [03:20:26] Speaker C: Good. Cause Arthur was gonna stare the guy. [03:20:28] Speaker E: Down, slams the door shut behind him, and peels off, literally drives through the gate at the end of the Runway, goes fucking off road in a town car. Liam support secretary here tells the entire. [03:20:52] Speaker C: Kindred community in Houston that that just happened. Couple of rogue hunters out of nowhere to take down this guy. [03:21:12] Speaker E: Is anybody gonna do anything about the secretary who's losing her fucking mind? [03:21:18] Speaker A: Yeah. [03:21:19] Speaker C: No, she deserves good with people. [03:21:21] Speaker D: What the fuck? [03:21:22] Speaker E: Well, I gave Piper. I gave Piper a second, like, say something or do something, and you've just been staring, so I assume that you weren't doing anything. I was asking other people. [03:21:31] Speaker D: No, no, she's not. [03:21:32] Speaker A: Yeah. Isabelle, since she didn't do anything, is holding in her blood the best she can and going over to, you know, medically attend to this person. [03:21:49] Speaker E: Medically attend to the woman having a full on mental breakdown. [03:21:52] Speaker A: Yeah, well, like, she. It's like, okay, this is how you're gonna deal with it. Like, let's. Let's get you. Let's get you. Let's get you seen, too, as I'm bleeding. [03:22:00] Speaker B: Uh, I'm gonna take out a strawberry cream out of my pocket. [03:22:06] Speaker C: Arthur's just gonna check to make sure that the vampires are dead. [03:22:11] Speaker E: They're not dead. You know they're not dead. Their bodies are still here, but they're not awake. You've seen a situation very much like this before, Arthur. In fact, Arthur, please make me an unspent willpower roll. [03:22:27] Speaker C: I was gonna say, I think that I'm gonna have to deal with my PTSD right now. How many is my unspent? 6123. [03:22:37] Speaker A: Yeah. [03:22:38] Speaker B: First, do we have access to blades, just out of curiosity? Maybe? Preferably ones that aren't wedged into cell. [03:22:47] Speaker D: Piper has a knife on her. [03:22:49] Speaker A: Yeah, I imagine we have knives, and. [03:22:52] Speaker D: It'S not the one in her shoulder. [03:22:53] Speaker B: Okay, cool, cool. Just, you know, because I'm not touching that one. [03:22:58] Speaker E: Arthur, you are watching these bodies, and again, you feel that welling of panic. I will let you know that I did jack up the difficulty on this one because you're under an awful lot of stress right now, there's been guns firing. You've been shot. Pipe. Isabelle's been shot. It's been a rough night. You feel the panic grip you, and before you can have just a complete meltdown, you turn and kind of walk away over to one of the, like, grassy areas and lose the contents of your stomach. [03:23:40] Speaker C: Fair. [03:23:44] Speaker E: All right, Rosanna, are you bringing over a strawberry cream in hopes that you can feed it to the young? To the young woman who is having a mental breakdown? [03:23:52] Speaker B: Yeah. [03:23:55] Speaker A: I'm gonna talk her through medically. Things like, you know, breathing, breathe in. [03:24:02] Speaker E: Prismacolor plus medicine, which I don't know how that's happened twice in one episode, but here we go. We're probably going to go a few minutes over, but I want to give you guys a chance to clean up your mess and get out of here. [03:24:23] Speaker A: Six successes with the critical. [03:24:25] Speaker D: Right. [03:24:26] Speaker E: Between that and Rosanna's strawberry cream, which we all know has some sort of weird bolstering effect on it. [03:24:35] Speaker D: Very bullshit. [03:24:37] Speaker E: She is still very, very upset and is probably going to be in need of some extensive therapy and medical help in the future. But she calms down enough that she'll, she is no longer a danger to herself in this moment. She's kind of in shock at the moment. [03:25:01] Speaker B: Let's take care of these two now while we can. [03:25:08] Speaker E: Yeah. [03:25:10] Speaker B: I'm gonna go check it out. [03:25:11] Speaker A: Sit here. [03:25:13] Speaker B: Oh, jeez. [03:25:18] Speaker E: Rojana, from what you can see, you and Piper are the only ones who are not bleeding. Well, well, no, that's, that's fair. I forgot about the knife. You are the only one who is not bleeding. [03:25:29] Speaker B: Yeah. [03:25:32] Speaker D: The knife is holding in most of the blood. [03:25:36] Speaker B: All right, well, uh, paprik, can I please borrow your knife? Preferably not the one lodged into you. We're gonna take care of that in a second. [03:25:46] Speaker D: You see her immediately. Go to that one. No, not that one. [03:25:50] Speaker B: No, not that one. [03:25:54] Speaker A: Till we can medically see to you. [03:25:58] Speaker B: Your other knife, please. [03:26:02] Speaker D: Yeah, she'll show. [03:26:04] Speaker B: Cool. Now, I am going to ask, do you want me to take care of him or should I? [03:26:13] Speaker E: Or do you want to? [03:26:17] Speaker B: I don't know. Am I taking care of him or. [03:26:19] Speaker C: Am I taking care of him? That's what I want. [03:26:21] Speaker D: That one's mine. [03:26:22] Speaker B: All right, let me go chop off this head. Then I'll go hand you back the snap. I gotta go check on Mister Loose's lunch. [03:26:32] Speaker D: Taking everything in my power to not do something incredible. [03:26:37] Speaker B: Please, for the love of God, don't. I'm gonna go. And. [03:26:46] Speaker E: The other guy said it's a little hard to take off a head with a knife. [03:26:51] Speaker B: Well, that's all we got. [03:26:53] Speaker E: But you know from experience that really, at the end of the day, what it takes is ample damage. He is prone. [03:27:03] Speaker C: Arthur was just gonna pick up the CEO's gun and just, like, shoot him, but had a PTSD. [03:27:07] Speaker E: He is prone. There is. There are a number of guns that have been dropped. You have a knife. It's not like you can't just stab him repeatedly until he goes to dust, right? [03:27:21] Speaker A: Is there any way I could see to my desperation? [03:27:25] Speaker E: If Piper will let you get anywhere near Barrow or you want to target one of the ghouls, you are welcome to any of those things. [03:27:35] Speaker A: Yeah, I guess that is a question to Piper. [03:27:40] Speaker D: You have to say something first. You have to say something in character. [03:27:46] Speaker A: Piper, I think it's just kind of. Just pulls out one of her own. Just sort of a small, little flip knife, and is kind of moving over and will say, um, at least, uh, grab something to study. [03:28:11] Speaker D: Um, Piper looks at Isabelle like, dead serious. Please tell me not fighting book. [03:28:19] Speaker A: No, this is my sh. This is what I do, Piper. I study kindred. Go ahead. Like, literally. Yeah. [03:28:31] Speaker E: Isabel, if you would like to. You could say that you have a vial on you. [03:28:34] Speaker A: Mm hmm. [03:28:35] Speaker E: If you want to take a sample of his blood, or if you would just rather, like, take a piece of hair or whatever, all of that is an option. [03:28:43] Speaker C: Yeah, she has a vial on her. She just emptied one before she walked out onto the airport. [03:28:47] Speaker A: No, that was, like, a day or two ago. [03:28:49] Speaker E: Yeah, it was a few days ago. [03:28:50] Speaker A: Before you left. A few days ago. I don't think she's gonna go for vite, because she has promised the boys. So I think it is going to be something like. [03:29:04] Speaker B: Grab a fang. [03:29:05] Speaker A: Yeah. I mean, honestly, like, a fang is interesting enough to study for her, so, you know. [03:29:13] Speaker E: Okay, cool. Make me an intelligence and medicine check just to see if you can manage to take it without breaking it or anything. [03:29:24] Speaker A: My pathology help with this? [03:29:27] Speaker E: Sure. [03:29:30] Speaker A: Thank you. Oh, kind storyteller. That is five successes. [03:29:35] Speaker E: Five. And you are no longer in despair. [03:29:38] Speaker A: Yay. [03:29:40] Speaker E: All right, Piper, what are you doing with the body? I will say that when you got the response from the second inquisition, there was a note that says that if you have any specimens you would like to pass along, they'd be happy to take them off of your hands. And you get the feeling they weren't talking about samples, like what Isabel just took. [03:30:03] Speaker D: No, this is too personal for her. First, once Isabelle's done collecting her sample, Piper, is going to tap the little earbud that she wears. [03:30:16] Speaker E: Uh huh. [03:30:17] Speaker D: You and I are gonna have to talk. [03:30:21] Speaker A: Yeah. [03:30:33] Speaker D: She'S just gonna, um. Basically, the drone is gonna take one of its legs and just kind of start smashing it into this guy. [03:30:44] Speaker E: All right? It doesn't take much or long. Even with all of his physical prowess, when he's unconscious, he can't use most of that. The drone slams a couple of its legs into him repeatedly over and over and over. And, Piper, you hear bones crack and blood, even old coagulated blood, is forced out of the wounds on its body as your drone proceeds to just decimate the corpse until all at once, it begins to collapse rapidly into dust. [03:31:40] Speaker D: While this is happening, I imagine Isabelle is still fairly close by. [03:31:45] Speaker A: Probably. [03:31:46] Speaker E: She's not far. [03:31:49] Speaker D: Piper. Her hand is very clearly twitching, and it looks like she is fighting the urge to run away. You can see her legs start to move. Like, she starts to take a step, but she forces herself. [03:32:05] Speaker A: You need medical attention. [03:32:11] Speaker D: I mean, I do have a knife in my shoulder. [03:32:14] Speaker A: Yeah, knives aren't supposed to be in your shoulder. No, no, they're not. [03:32:19] Speaker E: Um, legacy, will you roll me a single deten, please? [03:32:38] Speaker B: Seven. [03:32:39] Speaker E: Okay. Nothing happens. There's just piles of ash on the tarmac and the bodies of a couple of varian. Well, the body of an ovarian conscious ghoul and a secretary who has lapsed into an awake, but clearly not all their secretary. [03:33:05] Speaker A: We should. [03:33:07] Speaker D: Yeah, check if that ghoul is still alive. [03:33:16] Speaker A: Yeah, I mean, Isabelle will go over gingerly and check his pulse. [03:33:24] Speaker E: No pulse. [03:33:26] Speaker A: I'll shake my head. No. Damn it. [03:33:33] Speaker E: Sorry, guys. There's a lot of fucking damage to unleash on a basically mortal body. There was nothing he could do. [03:33:39] Speaker A: Yeah, at least he's a CEO. [03:33:48] Speaker D: You know what? Fair point. Might not have been a literal blood sucking monster, but. [03:33:57] Speaker A: Relatively close. We should. [03:33:59] Speaker E: Rosanna, from where you are standing, you can hear. You can hear the RV's engine rumble and start up. And one of the. At least one motorcycle is coming pretty rapidly around the gate. [03:34:23] Speaker B: All right, we should get ready. Y'all get into the rV. It sounds like it's coming. [03:34:36] Speaker D: Do we want to try to bring her with us, get her somewhere safe? [03:34:41] Speaker B: No. [03:34:44] Speaker A: Someone call the second inquisition. Let them know they've got a pickup. At least can have the ghoul. [03:34:53] Speaker B: Y'all get in and I'll. [03:35:01] Speaker C: Oh, yeah, specimen. Cool. [03:35:04] Speaker A: And they can have the ash. [03:35:06] Speaker E: I mean, the ghoul is dead, so. [03:35:09] Speaker A: I mean. [03:35:13] Speaker D: I'm sure he has some limited use. [03:35:16] Speaker C: Yeah, Arthur will prepare to get in the rV. [03:35:19] Speaker E: All right, who's calling the second inquisition? [03:35:21] Speaker A: I think it's Rosanna. [03:35:22] Speaker B: Yeah. [03:35:25] Speaker E: All right. Sister Mary Christopher. This is Bishop Thomas's office or Bishop Shaw's office. How may I help you? [03:35:36] Speaker B: Hi, sister. This is Doctor Rosanna Labelle. How are you doing tonight? [03:35:42] Speaker E: I'm lovely, doctor. [03:35:44] Speaker B: How are you doing? Very well myself, thank you for asking. Our mission is complete. We do have a couple of them. Rather unfortunate casualties. Um, one of the targets, known accomplice and a regular woman, um, are here. Uh, the. The woman's alive. The known accomplices, uh, has unfortunately moved on from this. [03:36:29] Speaker E: I see. And, well, unfortunately, Miss Labelle, if we send in a bunch of sirens and lights, there's going to be unwanted attention and you have a flight, according to my records, inbound very quickly. Is there any way that you could transport those two to a location if I provide them? Provide it for you? [03:36:52] Speaker B: Yes, ma'am. [03:36:55] Speaker E: Excellent. She reads off a couple of addresses. One of them looks like it's just a random house in the suburbs. No, you know what? She gives you one address, that it's a random house of the suburbs outside the city. You can take them both here. The body will be disposed of, and she will, and the young woman will be given proper medical care. [03:37:18] Speaker B: Thank you very much. We will drop those off in a jiffy. [03:37:24] Speaker E: Excellent. [03:37:26] Speaker B: And she'll hang up? [03:37:28] Speaker E: Yes, she will do the same. I'm going to hand wave the rest of this because we are already over. You guys gather up the body. Basically what ends up happening is patty comes roaring through part of the gate that is really just meant for a person to walk through on his motorcycle, like, literally hops up onto what is effectively like sidewalk and then down off the curb and roars over to you. It says, we've got to. We've got to fucking go. We've gotten a lot more attention than we would like. And he sees Isabelle bleeding and kind of grabs her arm on her good side and tugs her onto the back of the bike. Tom's in rough shape. I'm gonna take you to him. And kind of glances at the woman and at the body and looks at the rest of you. I'm going to hope that you guys can handle grabbing them. No. [03:38:41] Speaker B: Yeah. [03:38:42] Speaker E: Yeah. [03:38:47] Speaker B: One of you grab the that and she'll point to the CEO and Rosanna will go and lead the woman into the rV. [03:38:59] Speaker E: Okay, no roles needed. You guys gather up the body. Rosanna escorts the young woman, who's kind of barely coherent anyway. She's kind of staring off into the middle distance with that kind of blank expression, like her mind is sort of shut down because she just can't handle what's happening. Get them under the rV. It's about a 30 minutes drive. You drop them off at literally what just looks like a pretty nondescript house in the suburbs. You guys have been doing this long enough to know that this is probably a safe house of some sort for the. For the second inquisition. They have you back the rv up to the building to allow for the unloading of the body. A doctor who was clearly here to see the young woman spots in Isabelle bleeding from a gunshot wound and takes a moment to see to her wound first so that Isabelle can help the rest of you and then takes over taking care of the young woman. You guys have no idea where either of them are going to go after this. You just know that they're out of your hands. Tov, when you guys get to the rV, Tov's bike is in the back of the rV. Tov is on the stretcher. He. Isabel, he's fucked up. You don't know exactly what happened. Some of this looks like it might be road rash, like he got knocked off his bike at some point. Some of it looks like it could have been claws or a knife. It's rough. Can you please make me? This would be an extended check. I want you to make intelligence plus medicine. Pathology will apply, but you're going to be at a negative two because you're going to be doing this on the road in less than ideal circumstances. [03:41:08] Speaker A: And is this something I could use desperation on? [03:41:17] Speaker E: What do you have to do to use your desperation? [03:41:21] Speaker A: It's just entrepreneurial. It's the bold innovations and experimental approaches. I don't think. [03:41:28] Speaker E: No, you're not experimenting or innovating anything. You're literally just trying to keep him alive. [03:41:40] Speaker A: Evan Zixi with a critical. [03:41:44] Speaker E: Okay, make me two more. Okay. [03:41:57] Speaker A: I can spend willpower on these, right? Yes, I'm gonna spend a willpower on this. [03:42:01] Speaker E: Okay. [03:42:03] Speaker A: All right. That's much better. With four successes. And that is four. And just because she does not want to lose him, I will also spend another willpower. [03:42:22] Speaker E: Okay. [03:42:23] Speaker A: Nine successes with a critical. [03:42:26] Speaker E: All right. Isabelle is bound and fucking determined. Uh, you managed to stabilize tov. Um, it was very touch and go there in the middle. Um, you started out really strong, but unfortunately, you guys are in a moving rv. There was a lot of movement. There was a lot of things swaying. The lighting wasn't amazing. So halfway through, you weren't sure if you were going to need to rush him to that or in the hospital. Um, and, uh, Arthur, who is driving, ends up actually driving you to the OR, which is where you finish up saving his life. And that's what makes the difference at the very end, is being in a proper facility with staff who rush in to help you. [03:43:19] Speaker C: Yeah. Can't let my boy tov get killed, honestly. [03:43:25] Speaker E: Um, and that, uh, obviously, everybody else's wounds get seen to. Um. None of y'all got hurt so bad that I feel like we need big, dramatic scenes for them. [03:43:37] Speaker A: Yeah. I mean, I had more than half of my health tracker with Av, you know. [03:43:44] Speaker E: Well, you. You were also. You were also seen by a doctor. Uh, you know, um, and they give you a little bit more care in the hospital, but it's not. It's not too bad. You're well on your. You can. You will be well on your way to mending with enough with time. And that, ladies and gentlemen, is where we are going to call it for the evening. Thank you for tuning in. Thank you for sticking around for the extra 15 minutes while we wrapped everything up. Up.
